When I made the different threads a couple weeks ago listing all the sitcoms I have seen and ranking them, it kind of bothered me that there are so many shows from this current decade I haven't seen. So I thought I would check a few of them out. I'm starting with this show. Now I was never a huge fan of Home Improvement. I don't dislike it and in fact own all the seasons on DVD. I think I chose Last Man Standing out of curiosity for what Tim Allen's second (apparently) successful sitcom would be like.
Anyways, I watched the pilot episode a couple days ago and it's okay. Not great but pilots aren't always the best episode of a show anyways. I'll definitely check out some more of this show. Unfortunately, my favorite daughter is the one that is only in the first season. They recast her for season two onward. But it is what it is and I just have to accept it, lol.
I really want to broaden my sitcom horizons and in order to do that, I just simply have to watch more shows I've never seen before.
Back to the show, Allen's character isn't all that likable to me (in fact I can't even remember his name... or anyone's name at the moment) but I imagine he'd grow on me over time. I like his wife and his daughters all seem like they can be good characters. Kyle (looks like I *do* remember someone's name) seems like he could be a funny character. I wonder if he sticks around and is still in the current season. I could easily find out by researching it but it's not that important, lol.
I don't have a big review for the pilot or anything. I really just wanted to say I watched it.
