Hey, I wish they would do just that!

This is a very popular series and has been for many decades. I just can't fathom why they haven't released it on DVD yet!!

Not just the black and white episodes but ALL of them! I like the color ones better.

:D

well it seems like just about every series is going to DVD, so i cant imagine why they wouldnt, its the best deal for everyone, those old episodes are just lying around and suddenly become a money-maker once again

I don't think they will ever do TAGS by the season or the whole set. They never did VHS like that, and there have many people to try and make that happen. There are TAGS dvd's, but they are the same few episodes that have been released to vhs. They have made numerous factory dvd's and vhs, but they are the same 30 or so episodes over and over under different theme titles.
The way that I have heard it explanied was that there were so many different writers for the different episodes, that many of the copyrights are not given out. Certain writers allowed them to be given or sold, and their episodes have been produced over and over. Some of the vhs and dvd's don't even have the epilogues that TV Land plays at the end. also, the numerous writers on the show, also explains the contradictions in the show (Goober being called Beasley and Pyle, Clara Johnson/Edwards, and numerous other contradictions.) Seems like the newest writers would at least have the courtesy to watch all the old episodes until they signed on, and not make contradictions, but oh well..
It's still the greatesdt show of all time. I do have the 249 episode set on VHS, after about 4 years of TV Land, and other local stations playing the show, and many people have gotten it from me, . If your interested, just e:mail, at rawisking@yahoo.com
