It looks like by now DISH customers losing Viacom channels. Several cable companies last year had lost Viacom channels, and it may be because of serious ratings struggle.

Any thoughts to this? I know many people could be very upsetting or others really don't care and decided to watch sitcoms on mobile devices or netflix or online, and watching Viacom networks like Nick at Nite or TVLand or MTV as well as others have lot of commercials and going off the clock.

I can't wait to see what else is next for other cables..? Will Comcast be next?

It seems like this happens alot with Viacom. They're a greedy, money-hungry company and none of their investments truly work (MTV, Nickelodeon, TV Land, etc.)

As a Dish customer, many of us are disappointed with the Viacom vs. Dish Network debacle.

These companies like Viacom continue to ask for more money which is passed on to the customers. Dish has attempted to keep costs down; therefore I plan to stay with Dish through this dispute it has with Viacom.

Talked with Dish Network after seeing the streams that were put out by Viacom on my TV Land channel here in Oklahoma City. They basically said that this was being negotiated; they felt that it would be resolved.

Called Viacom, they put me on hold--attempted to wear me down by redirecting my calls to other employees (like I was a hot potato). They told me they would take my name and number--get back with me.

Corporate greed is what this is all about. Thankful that Dish will stand up to these guys. We grew up with analog TV which was free through the airways. Now we're paying roughly $100 a month to watch TV.

Know this is a capitalistic society; however, looks like the corporate world is getting out of control.

I had a house in the late 1990's, like 1998-1999, which was in a rural area, but only about 20 miles from a major city. The only choice we had was "Dish Network" with the ugly black dish on my house.

What irked me about the whole thing was that I could not get the local network affiliates, and especially 15-20 years ago, 90% of what I watched on television came from the networks, and I wanted to watch the local news.

I had a workmate friend up the road who had Dish but could get the networks, because he was "grandfathered" in or something. I never understood what the whole argument was all about between the networks and Dish. Their ridiculous response to my complaining about the lack of network stations and their reply was to get some "rabbit ears" or an antenna, which did not work.

I think now if I still had that house, I would have suspended that service years ago and just use the internet for my entertainment.

In this video Gloria sings "And when you are gone we won't miss you at all" With Dish losing Viacom(unism) IMO this is the appropriate tune. :D

That's not funny and considered to be disrespecting.

^They'll just lose those channels again. It's a neverending game. Viacom hates everyone, and we hate Viacom. So it's mutual.
