Given that MPI has re-released and released Seasons 1-5, why haven't Seasons 6-8 been released? Could Shout get the rights since they are from Sony? It's a shame since it's such a good show and deserves to be completed.

They need to strike new masters for those seasons, which is very costly. Also, Sony has been approached in the last few years, but them do not seem to want to let them go.

The only way we will see them is if someone like Me-TV agrees to help foot the restoration cost with MPI.

After decades of computer graphics imagery and increasing digital prowess, why is this not a near automatic process? Seem to me that operating the video and audio adaption controls would not be much different that mastering the multi-tracs of a sound recording. Surely the fix of many of these series, seasons, and episodes does not require the intense work like restoring My Fair Lady, where the closing credits were the reconstruction team.

Conversely, I have yet to find a utility to un-JPEG images. Nothing I know back out the JPEG image compression and corruption that make maps, charts, documents, &c. that get "JPEG"d useless. Just about every image manipulation program will save a JPEG'd image as some other file type, but the intelligence in the original scan, CAD, or other process is GONE.

I am waiting for the next Donna Reed series, Season 5 of Beverly Hillbillies, season 4 of Petticoat Junction, and another that slipped my mind. All of the seasons of Perry Mason were completed like clockwork. What gives?
