I was just wondering about the cable channel Lifetime, and how they say "Television for Women." Well, I'm a guy and I really enjoy Lifetime. I really only started watching it because of The Golden Girls, but I've seen some of their movies, and a lot of them aren't just for women. I recently saw "Killing Mr. Griffin" and it's a teen movie (Similiar to I know what you did Last Summer) and really enjoyed it. Also, "I've been waiting for you" it's about a high school where the popular crowd accusses a new girl of being a witch and practicing witchcarft (It's an old Mass town, like Salem) I just think that men could enjoy Lifetime as much as women, even though it's really directed towards women. Any of you watch Lifetime regularly?

P.S. Also Unsloved Mysteries is awesome. Great show for those Aline Hunter or Ghost hunter type of people, and you know who you are. ;)

Lifetime has the best TV movies going. I love the station. My only complaint is that there are too many commercials, at least in Boston anyway.

I'm a woman and I don't really care for LifeTime network. I find the movies boring and I can't stand The Golden Girls.

I like Lifetime...they've got the BEST movies!! My dad watches it...lol, he really likes movies.

I love Golden Girls but I cant stand any of the other sitcoms they show like Designing Women and Mad About You. I like Unsolved Mysteries but it scares me too much to watch it most of the time. And a lot of their movies are really good.. I espcially like the movie called "Surviving: A Family In Crisis". Molly Ringwald stars in it and its so sad, its about two kids who both commit suicide. We watched it in health in 8th grade too. So sad. =(

Ditto! I'm a woman, too and actually I don't bother to watch the Lifetime Network. I prefer watching stations like TBS Superstation, which is supposedly, where "movies for guys who like movies" air and there are actually tons of films that have aired on TBS that I think are really good. And I also don't like the station WTN. Can't stand that network!

Lifetime is not all for women. For ex. on Sunday, they showed Titantic. (the 1996 version) and it wasn't only dealing with women...

I'm a guy and I watch Golden Girls but thats about it for Lifetime... the thing I hate is how in every commercial sequence they have that "Lifetime: Television... for Women" thing on... it irks me. :)

Yea, those movies I mentioned above were some of the best movies I saw on that network, especially the "Wicth" one. Anybody see it? It was like the best movie I saw in a while. I also liked Brokedown Palace (Even though I saw it before), and We were the Mulvaneys. That one was a really good movie. And Jenny, I also saw Titanic. Not as good as the 97 version, but not bad. I really enjoyed it.

And no offense to you Designing Women fans, but I don't like that show. Same w/ Mad about you. My fav. show on there, of course, is Golden Girls! I love Sophia Petrillo! And I can't wait until they add The Nanny. I miss that show soo much. I haven't seen it in over a year. :(

Gee, I'm glad I don't watch that network. I thought the Golden Girls show was bad, but that stuff that you mentioned that is on Lifetime is sick. Who would want to watch movies about that stuff?

I love Lifetime. I only watch of 2 reasons. 1) The Golden Girls 2) the awesome movies they play.

I love it for the "Girls" and for the "Women".

And when they play that stupid sexist blurb, I like to voice along with it and say, "Lifetime...television for women...and men who have good taste in sitcoms." ;)

Iagree! It seems that if a woman or child is not being victimized by a"man" the network wouldn't show it. It is sending out a bad message . If this is supposed to be a positive thing for women I just don't get it!:eek:

I wish the station would remove that constant annoying Lifetime logo on the right corner of the screen. It's fairly common these days, but I find it distracting.
What drives me even crazier is the latest trend on new's shows with the printed news running along the bottom of the screen. I find it impossible to keep my eyes off it, and end up missing what's going on in the show.

Exactly. I like to take screen captures with my digital camera, and everytime I get the pictures back up on my computer, there is always that darn logo in the corner! I hate it!

The lifetime logo doesnt bother me... its practically invisible.

i love lifetime! before the divison...and...after...no wait..there's not gonna be an after. i loooove lifetime! it has the best movies. i see a movie a day on there...i just have a good cry. and they brought make mad about you! i have not seen in a while!! YAY!!! and they have strong medicine and nancy and the division and everything!!!!!!!!!!! :D

We don't have Lifetime in the UK but we've got LivingTV which, from what you guys have said, appears to be pretty much the same thing. It's got The Division, Golden Girls, Girlfriends, Bold & The Beautiful, Charmed and tonnes of awful 'made-for-TV' movies. LivingTV sucks so bad. The only good show on it is Ricki Lake but I can't even watch that cos they put it on during the week when I'm at work! :mad:

No we don't.
We have all the same shows as you guys - they're just on different channels.
I mean we have some of the same channels like Nick, MTV and Bravo and stuff. But we don't have any of the big ones like the WB and Fox and ABC.

I like The Division on Lifetime, but I don't really watch much else on that channel. Um, the Television for Women thing kinda bothers me. I mean, my brother has enjoyed a few episodes of The Division with me...why do the shows have to be just for women?????

I watch Lifetime and I'm a guy I love all those movies they show and all the repeats of Golden Girls and Mad about You. I think it is one of the best cable stations. But I don't like any one their originals like The Division.

It's for everyone but it's like a WOMAN'S network. Like Intimate Portrait for women and the sitcoms have to do with women, it's like a a station dedicated to women. But of course men and women watch it, they have some good shows. :)

Men have their stations too. Like TBS and them and some women watch them too. Like grownups watching Nickelodeon or something. Just cuz it says Lifetime: Television for Women, doesn't mean they bash men. Golden Girls bashes men, but when you have 4 women living together, what the heck do you expect?? lol

That's true. Bravo is meant to be a guys channel but I watch it quite a lot. And Nick and Cartoon Network are meant for kids but I watch 'em every day.

I'm A Man, and I like to watch Lifetime!! I started to watch Lifetime because of "The Golden Girls"( I LOVE this show I have The DVDs too! Season 4 is coming out 2/14/06!!!) Then I started to watch "Unsloved Mysteries"!! I LOVE this show too!! Also they sometimes do have some good movies on!!!

Some of their movies are really good and I enjoy watching them (I am not a woman though)

their good movies are like Lies My Mother Told Me, Buried Secrets, Dead Silent, Empty Cradle and Locked Up: a Mothers Rage.

I watch Lifetime all the time. I love Golden Girls and Designing Women. Ive been watching those shows since I was little. A good amount of thier movies are good too. I like true life type stories and movies.

the only thing I like on Lifetime is Golden Girls, but those DVD's are coming out so once season 7 is out, I'll never need to watch the station again

Like a year and a half ago, when Dish had a dispute with Viacom, and we lost a handful of channels, this time Dish is arguing with Lifetime over a renewal. Now Dish viewers have been missing Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network since the beginning of the year.

Does anyone else have Dish network and is has ticked as me? Because I admit, I am a dork who watches these channels sometimes.

Yeah I love LIfetime ch. It does have some real good movies on it almost everynight. :) and of course "The Golden Girls" can't forget about that show!!!!

I have Dish Network. I miss Lifetime a little, but the main reason I'm ticked, is because I lost 2 channels, and will have a $2.00 bill increase. If they put them back, or even if they replace them with something better, I'm happy. But Women's Entertainment on two channels... Yuck!

Anybody can watch lifetime.. I don't know why they just say "Television for woman" Its stupid lol... They do have pretty good shows on there.. Infact i bought a dvd from Walmarts one time it's called "She's too Young" From one of the Lifetime Show's.. Has anyone ever see that one?

I dont see how it can be a womans channel they are due to showing Frasier and i hardly classify that as a womans show, more of a metro sexual channel
