I was a fan of the musical Hairspray when it came out and I'm just wondering if New Line Cinema will release a Hairspray 2 in the future? Because I haven't heard anything about a sequel to Hairspray and judging how popular Hairspray was in theaters I hope New Line Cinema makes a Hairspray 2 because it would be so wonderful to see

I loved Hairspray! It was great!! And John Travolta playing the mother, Edna Turnblad! That was so funny!!!

It was good, but it paled in comparison to John Water's original. Travolta was good as Edna, but no where near as good as Divine. Divine embodied that role, as he did all of his roles playing women. He didn't need extensive make up effects, just a wig and regular make up and he became the character.

Was that the one with Ricki Lake as the daughter ? I did see that but so many years ago. It was good , but I remember the newer one more !!! :)
