View Full Version : Has anyone seen the movie "Labor Day" ?
Bonniegirl 04-08-2016, 11:49 PM And would like to discuss it ? Especially ladies (or men too)! I just recently saw it and watched it again!!! I LOVED it!!!! I can honestly say it's in my top 10 favorite all time movie list now! ;)
SO romantic!!! Josh Brolin as a hot escaped convict !! And Kate Winslet as the poor lonely troubled woman that fall in love!! :)
Looking for other ladies who thought this was a beautiful, romantic movie and loved it like I did! ;) Or men, anyone that would like to talk about this movie with me! :)

1960'sTVfan 04-09-2016, 10:22 AM I'd like to discuss it with you, but I haven't seen it, and it probably wouldn't be to my liking anyway. Also, I generally dislike any movie that was made after 1976. There might be a few exceptions, but not many. I don't like the way people act in modern day movies/TV shows, don't like the foul language these actors are allowed to use, and I don't like how modern movies and TV shows are filmed, very unappealing looking.
Torgo 04-09-2016, 11:22 AM My wife and daughter rented it on Netflix, but I opted to watch something else, though I like both actors it has no appeal to me. It's directed by Jason Reitman (son of Ivan "Ghostbusters" etc) who also directed Juno.
I haven't seen it either. Sorry.

Well it supposed to take place in 1987, seems like even before that. It's in a small town and the lady (Kate Winslet) is kind of nuts and wears old style dresses!;)
No bad language (not that I remember). It had the feel of a movie that was made back in the day. Didn't seem modern at all, cause it was supposed to take place in another era, in a small town that was kind of still backward even for 1987! ;)

Did they like it? It is more a movie for women! Very romantic! ;)
HuntingtonM15 04-09-2016, 01:57 PM I watched it on a plane on an overseas flight. I thought it was really good, and very well acted. Of course you can't really go wrong with those actors!

1987 isn't that long ago, make it 1947 and now you're talking, I like that era.
It's possible the movie isn't so bad, maybe I'll check it out sometime if I get the chance.

Edison 09-07-2016, 12:38 AM Saw it yesterday, thanks to you and Opus. Very good movie. Gotta admit that at the end..um..touch of darn hay fever (yes, I'm a guy). Ok, cuz ya can't read the end credits anymore, anyway.
