anyone know why they just air "the classic 39" over and over and not "the lost episodes"? Or the color ones? Also the reunion specials from the 70s?

Me and Bill S. were talking about this. It might have to do with the Blu Ray set being available or something like that. WPIX in NY also doesn't show the lost episodes. I know the classic 39 gets boring after awhile.

As far as the 60s episodes and the 70s special "Honeymooners XMas Carol",, musical clearance issues and other clearance issues are probably the big reason especially for a diginet. I know I contacted MeTV and asked them if they can show the JGS that shows the short Color sketches but they replied by saying that due to clearance issues, that would be hard for them to show them. I know I would like for them to be shown on free TV.

As far as the rest of the 70 specials, I don't know.

Also, I sent an e-mail to ME TV and asked them this, so I'll see what they say.

JTS stands for Jackie Gleason Show. I do hope MeTV (and WPIX for that matter) shows the lost episodes soon.

Just to expand on what Frank said about the Blu-ray release: My theory is that since the HD transfers used on the 2014 set seem to have made their way into syndication, the Lost Episodes probably look inferior in comparison. Since kinescopes can never truly be HD, I'm worried that this may hold them back from being rerun at this point. If I'm not mistaken, Antenna TV skips over the first couple seasons of The Burns & Allen Show, since those episodes only exist as kinescopes. As far as I know, the filmed Burns & Allen episodes have not even been remastered in HD, so that should give you a rough idea of how networks (even the retro ones) feel about kinescopes.
