I'm thinking about buying the complete series set since amazon has it decently priced.
One question...
I'm aware of edits BUT how bad are the edits?

I'm aware of edits BUT how bad are the edits? Svenfan1234 04-04-2016, 09:42 PM ^According to Sitcoms Online DVD reviews, they can't be too bad because every episode is still 25 to 26 minutes even with music edits. $35 is a great deal, regardless, and I want to buy it soon. I just bought the "Cheers" set. Svenfan1234 04-04-2016, 09:46 PM The shortest is around 23:40. So that isn't too bad. tlc38tlc38 04-04-2016, 09:49 PM I haven't seen any episodes of TOC so it'll be new viewing to me. I may wait til next month to buy it. Maybe amazon will still have it priced low. Svenfan1234 04-04-2016, 09:51 PM ^ Yes I bet it will Svenfan1234 05-20-2016, 07:09 AM It's $32 on Amazon Svenfan1234 06-14-2016, 12:33 PM It's $33 on Amazon now. Adamantium 06-14-2016, 02:26 PM There's one edit that really guts me and it's from the finale. Since you say you haven't seen any episodes, I won't spoil it but Oscar is happily singing "I'm Singing in the Rain" and that's cut out. It was this great moment in the series that's just gone. As for the first two seasons, they are pretty much intact. I think maybe a song or two was cut from the second season but as far as I know the first season is uncut. The third season on is where the butchering takes place. I love this show yet have a hard time watching the DVDs because of the edits, especially the one I mentioned from the finale. But I'm sure watching the edited versions wouldn't stop you from becoming a fan of the show as it's still a hilarious one. opus 06-14-2016, 02:37 PM The show is currently running weekly on ME. How are their edits? tlc38tlc38 08-26-2016, 09:46 PM Did this set originally come with a cardboard slipcover? My Gomer Pyle set came with one and I was just wondering if TOC should've, too. Adamantium 08-26-2016, 11:50 PM Did this set originally come with a cardboard slipcover? My Gomer Pyle set came with one and I was just wondering if TOC should've, too. No, none of the ones I bought ever did and I bought them all on release day. tlc38tlc38 08-29-2016, 06:00 PM ^The reason I ask is because my Gomer Pyle set came with one and I see some TOC sets online that do have a slipcover. I bought Gomer Pyle at Walmart and I ordered TOC from Amazon. Svenfan1234 01-07-2017, 12:39 PM I just got the complete series set of The Odd Couple and it didn't have a slipcover. tlc38tlc38 06-03-2018, 07:34 PM Does anyone have a complete list of all the edits/music replacements? |
