I understand the ball game was based around Rance Howard calling an out on his son Ron when Rance was umpiring Ron's baseball game. I have to ask though, after the game did all of Rance's friends act as nasty to him as Goober, Floyd, Aunt Bea and the rest of the town did to Andy because he and Bob Ross went up and beyond their abuse of Andy. In fact I'm shocked they didn't find some reason to have Helen turn against him so she could blast him for the umpteenth time.
