I have a very vivid memory of watching a scene on TV around the late 1970s that was hysterically funny, but I'm not sure what show it was from. I feel like it was a Susan Harris show. For years, I assumed it was from "Hail to the Chief", but I acquired this show on DVD a few years ago, watched every episode, and it did not appear. And "Hail to the Chief" was from 1985, so that also makes me doubt it was from that show. (Patty Duke's death got me thinking about this again.) The scene is with a family and a dinner guest at the dinner table. I believe there was a husband and two children and a wife who was completely made out of wax. And the husband was sort of crazy and treated the wax wife like she was alive. He talked to her and tried to feed her. Everyone at the table acted like this was completely normal. The dinner guest is very confused and is trying to be polite and go along, but finally he yells out, "For godsakes, the woman is a candle!" Does anyone remember this, but me?

All I have for you is I'm pretty sure it's not SOAP.

Oh yes, I should have mentioned I've seen every episode of "Soap" (except maybe two) and it wasn't from that show. None of the people in the scene were "Soap" characters.

Found it! Someone posted it to YouTube 5 months ago. I was correct all along. The scene appeared in the final episode of "Hail to the Chief". Apparently, the DVDs I have only contained six out of seven episodes. This scene was in the seventh episode.
