Well, even though you said you weren't so much sad about only having boys, but that your ex had a girl with his new wife, I can totally understand how you feel.:) But, I also can totally relate as far as wanting a boy, and getting a girl. Guess that's common with most of us dad-to-be's. Flash forward 18 years and I couldn't think of having it any other way.
My daughter's a total girly girl as far as dressing up, fashion, went to all of the proms and dances,typical teenage girl stuff. But she also did things with me that is usually for father and sons, helped me work on cars, she's not afraid to get greasy or dirty, she changes oil and tunes up her own car, and I don't have to worry if she gets a flat she knows how to change the tire.:)


Guess that explains why she can go out fishing with me during the day, then go out dressed up that same night.;)

I take care of my neighbors/ friend's cats when her and her hubby go out of town! I enjoy that .:) There are two.One of them is right there happy to see me as soon as he hears the key in the door.The other one is shy and hides from me! Once in a blue moon he will come out while I'm there,and I'll pet him,but he's never as friendly as the other one! :)

That's cute! See? Cats aren't all independent and stand offish like people claim, yes they don't depend on people like dogs, but they still want the attention and affection. Granted, there are the cats that are shy like your neighbors, my oldest sis has one like that, I've mainly only seen her from pictures haha She will only come out when my sister is alone.

Niece Torgo has a great and protective cousin and surrogate Daddy. :wave:

He ended up being a really nice young man. Very polite, and not in the Eddie Haskell way. She came home looking happy and flushed, the date went good.:)

And it was nice for the 3 of us getting some alone time, and Baby Torgo and I watched a cheesy horror movie, which we haven't gotten to do in forever.:wave:

We watched a monster movie from the 80's called Terror In The Swamp. I've owned the movie for years, longer than she's been alive. But she never seemed interested in it, but I recently got her a copy of a book called Regional Horror Films 1959-1990: A State To State Guide. She read the interview with the writer/producer of it and wanted to finally watch it.:) :wave:
Oh yeah! Some of these cheesy horror flicks, mainly from the 80's always seem to have a character telling a bad joke, so of course I memorize them. Whenever Baby Torgo and I would go out on a boat fishing I would always tell the same joke:

"Know why I don't hunt for elephants?"
"Why"
"Because I can't fit the decoys in the boat."

Baby Torgo didn't know where I got the joke from, so as we're sitting there watching the movie, the joke comes up, and she yells "Oh my god! That's where you got that dumb joke from!":lol:

Haha yes, we did have to explain to my niece where the name Torgo came from, but Baby T has known who he was for years having watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 with me.

Mrs. T and I were talking last night before bed. Mrs. T asked me if my sister and brother-in-law would be too upset if we kept Niece Torgo when they come back home in September. Haha. I guess neither of us are ready for the whole empty nest thing, even last Fall, we never really adjusted to it because of Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks, it never felt like Baby T was gone that long. Well, except that time between her leaving and Thanksgiving at the time that was the longest she had been gone. But when September comes, the house is really going to feel empty. :(
