I don't mean people from back in the day that are still around, and I don't mean successful artists or bands of today. I mean the over the top, somewhat brilliant yet insane type of people that used to scare parents and stuff.

Was there someone more recent? I know we have non-rock artists that behave over the top, but I'm talking rock music frontmen mainly.

The only one I can think of is Kurt Cobain.

A few years ago, Kanye West got ragged on at a festival concert in Australia for referring himself, rather loudly, as a "rock star".
