I consider myself a Brady Bunch expert but there's one thing that I was never able to confirm.

I thought that I had once read that Florence Henderson's shag hairdo from the 1971-1973 seasons was thanks to extensions that she wore. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know if that was her real hair?


For those of you who don't know, Florence wore a wig from episodes 1 (The Honeymoon) through 14 (Vote for Brady). She had been in a play previous to her beginning working on The Brady Bunch and her hair had been cut really short.

Also, watch for Florence's dark dye job beginning with episode 41 (The Drummer Boy) through episode 46 (Lights Out). This was done to match the hair colors of the girls. During this time, Susan's hair had been dyed a strange reddish color.

I never knew that was a wig. It looked so real!

That bubble-do that she had in the first few episodes was a wig, but the flip/shag that she had during seasons 3 and 4 was pure Henderson. I've heard her talk about it in interviews.
