IIRC, Mork & Mindy was like that, in that it did well on Thursdays for its first go-round (1978-79), then was moved to Sundays for the second (1979-80), where ratings fell. It then was moved back to its original Thursday slot for 1980-81, but the ratings still fell, and it ended out in 1982 after 4 seasons at a low of #60.

The one that still bugs me is when ABC moved "The Partridge Family" from Fridays at 8 (thus destroying the greatest TGIF lineup of all time!) to Saturdays at 8 during the 1973-74 TV season, placing it squarely opposite "All In The Family". It got killed in the ratings and was mercifully cancelled in the summer.

I think Perfect Strangers was doing well on ABC's TGIF lineup but then it's final year when it moved to Saturdays it's when the writing was on the wall along with other aging shows that moved to Saturdays like Growing Pains and Who's The Boss?

Murder, She Wrote getting moved from the Sunday time slot it had since forever is what killed the show.

In 1990 Fox moved The Simpsons to Thursday nights at 8, opposite the The Cosby Show. The Simpsons eventually vacated the time slot, and were, sadly, never heard from again.

That it did, and it was moved to Thursdays against Friends on NBC, to boot!

Yeah, I've never even heard of that show.

"Designing Women" moving to Fridays killed the show as the ratings plunged from #6 to #67. It still would have been in the Top Ten had it remained on Mondays after "Murphy Brown" during the 1992-93 Season instead of the mediocre "Love and War", which ironically improved once Annie Potts replaced Susan Dey in 1993 and it became more of a "Cheers"-type ensemble show instead of a relationship comedy between Susan Dey and Jay Thomas.

Family Ties' ratings declined sharply in its last two seasons as a result of being moved from Thursdays to Sundays.
