Netflix‘s Fuller House is off to an amazing start. Sure, you can’t find any television critics who will admit to liking the show (http://decider.com/2016/02/25/does-it-matter-that-fuller-house-is-terrible/), but audiences don’t seem to care in the slightest. To their credit, Netflix didn’t decide to reboot the beloved sitcom in an attempt to win over critics or Emmy voters; they did it because their data told them the show would be a hit.
Early results seem to suggest Netflix was right. The streaming giant will almost certainly not release any ratings data for the show —they never have before, so they probably won’t start now— but anecdotal evidence seems to be pointing towards this show being a huge hit. The hashtag #FullerHouse (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23FullerHouse&src=tyah) was trending nationally on Twitter all day yesterday, and the show is currently #2 on Instantwatcher’s chart of the Most Popular Shows on Netflix (http://instantwatcher.com/). You can bet that all of the analytical minds in Los Gatos responsible for greenlighting this show weren’t surprised to see that their show would be a hit on social media, but there’s one particular feature of the show that’s popularity is likely a surprise to all: “Stephanie Tanner’s boobs.” (https://twitter.com/search?src=typd&q=stephanie%20tanner%20boobs)
