“Black-ish” will return for a third season. The African-American family comedy, starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, has drawn a healthy audience in its sophomore season, but perhaps just as important as the ratings performance is the sitcom’s inclusion of hard-hitting headlines such as police brutality and even an episode exploring the use of the N-word. A recent episode, covering the Black Lives Matter movement, resulted in huge Twitter reaction and ratings uptick.
