Gens. Barker and Hamilton on "MASH"
Mr. Haney on "GREEN ACRES"

howilu 03-02-2016, 11:17 AM In the Felix the Cat cartoons, there's a brainy character named Poindexter who always refers to Felix as "Mr. Felix."

How about one of the famous ones? Newman from Seinfeld.
His first name was Cosmo.
His first name was Cosmo.
That was Kramer. Newman was his postal worker friend. (He even gave someone his business card once, and it just said Newman.)

As Jerry would say with a disgusted look on his face and clenched teeth!!!
NEWMAN!!!!!!! :D
I'm not a fan of the Seinfeld show but the "NEWMAN" shtick and the Newman character (he was funny and goofy) was one of the funniest things about the show I thought! ;) :D
Edward216 03-03-2016, 02:59 AM Thanks treky, I was going to start a thread on this too but you beat me to it. :)
Also from MASH. I don't believe the recurring characters of Sergeant Zale and then later Sergeant Rizzo (who actually replaced Zale) were ever given first names. But I could be wrong, but I really don't remember first names being used for them.

treky 03-03-2016, 03:05 AM there names were Zelmo Zale and Luther Rizzo.
Edward216 03-03-2016, 03:08 AM Really? Interesting. I can only remember everybody always calling them both sergeant or only by their last names.
Ed.
treky 03-03-2016, 03:10 AM speaking of MASH thay cook they had for one or two seasons toward the end of the shows run-you know, that italian middle aged guy-I don't think they ever said his first name OR his last name. I could be wrong though.
Edward216 03-03-2016, 03:10 AM I wonder if using Zale and Rizzo (both names have the letter Z in them) was intentional on the writers' part? Not names you hear too often. I've never met anybody with either last name.

I remember it as Matilda.
Edward216 03-08-2016, 02:00 AM It's not a sitcom, but on Fantasy Island the mysterious Mr. Roarke never had a first name.

Bonniegirl 03-13-2016, 09:12 PM Mr. Slate, Fred Flintstone's boss. Was his first name ever mentioned?
Foggy 03-13-2016, 10:41 PM Mr. Slate, Fred Flintstone's boss. Was his first name ever mentioned?
Several times, but they keep changing his first name:
Mr. Rockhead Sylvester Nate Oscar George Slate is Fred's boss at the Bedrock Quarrel and Gravel Company. He is voice by John Stephenson.
Mr. Slate was born in Granite Town and lived at 140 Boulder Avenue. Right next door at 142 Boulder Avenue lived his sister Flo Slate Rubble mother of Barney Rubble. See Season 3 Episode 2: Fred's New Boss
An ongoing gag with Mr. Slate is that they always add new names. It has changed from Sylvester to Nate, Oscar and even George.

And Fred groveling saying " Bbbbbbbbbb But Mr. Slate"!!!!!!!! :D

Edward216 03-14-2016, 02:27 AM Hmmm, I always thought Schroeder was his first name. It'd be interesting to look it up.
