Did anyone mention when and how Maria (Tony's wife and Samantha's mother) died

her name was Marie, not maria, and there was never any talk about how she died or when, it was irrelevant to the show

I think she was mentioned by Mona in the 1st episode. I haven't seen the show in ages-what time is on central time?
