A short while ago, I started a thread about ways that I found this show to be very similar to another sitcom by the name of "Cheers". Well, because of how long it took me to get across the points that I made in that thread, I decided to start another one to tell the reader what caused me to think of "Cheers" in the first place. At this point, it has been quite a while since "Gimme a Break!" has been syndicated on any network that I can pick up. One fact that I have written quite a bit about is the fact that a reality show called "America's Court" is now on the W.B. 11 during the time that "Gimme a Break!" used to be shown. A real sign of the times. Well, in between then and now, a nationwide network called Boomerang has changed its schedule. The thing about this that caught my attention is the fact that they changed the time that the "Flintstones" are shown. At three o'clock in the morning, they show the first of three syndicated episodes of the "Flintstones". That being the case, the show that is now shown on the time and channel that "Gimme a Break!" used to be on is on opposite the "Flintstones". Now we finally get to what all of this has to do with "Cheers". Throughout the run of "Cheers", I remember two incidents in which they mentioned things that were on opposite the "Flintstones". In a first-season episode, there was mention of the "Flintstones" being on opposite the 6 O'clock News. On a much later episodes, it was stated that they were on opposite "Gilligan's Island". If anyone here watches "Cheers" I would be very interested in whether you remember either of these incidents. If you do not and you are curious, I will be happy to elaborate on the circumstances in which these realities were mentioned later on.
