View Full Version : Hardball !!!!
Bonniegirl 02-26-2016, 12:51 AM I LOVED this ep!!!!:) ;) I saw it a couple times before, and of course it featured Max so I always liked it!! But for some reason, I REALLY got into it today!!! ;) It was FUNNY!!! Michael Lembeck really does seem more comfortable doing comedy over drama! ;) This ep was fun, more comedy than drama!!! And DAMN he looked so cute laying on the couch wearing the ball cap!!!:) Poor baby!!! Wife and Mother in law nowhere around ,and a nice looking sister in law, him laid up on the couch like that!!! A pre Nearness of you scenario???;) If I were Barbara, I'd be like " Are you sure you are comfortable laying there in jeans! Can I help you change into your pajamas or if you want you can take your jeans off and just lay there in your T shirt and boxers"!!!!!:) ;) :D He looked really nice in that red T shirt!! :) Red is a good color for him!!! ;)
And Barbara looked cute and casual in her ball cap and sports/number top too! A cute ,cool ep! :) ;)
That kid on the CB radio, the one who earlier in the apartment says a tie is like kissing your sister-in-law, was that a boy or girl?

That was a boy!!! YEP!!!!! The first time I watched this I thought it was a girl! Till they made it clear it wasn't! But still ,watching for a third time, it's hard to tell, but yes, the kid is a boy!!!;) The only girl on the team was the one who needed to leave early for her French horn lesson!!!
Also notice that even though this originally ran after all the Mark/engagement/baby drama, Alex attempts to get Barbara to coach by tempting her with a chance to meet cute guys, and she briefly considers it.

Yeah really!!!! ;) Where WAS Mark when all this was going on? He would have been a logical candidate for a coach! And where the heck was Schneider?, he would have jumped at the chance to be the coach!!!! Conveniently , Max just comes to town (Perfect timing) for some type of training or whatever ( wouldn't he be too busy doing that to be coaching a kids baseball team) ? And at this point Julie would have been VERY pregnant right? Max just seemed more concerned with the little league baseball team than with his training program and his very pregnant wife!!!
Alex Cooper 02-26-2016, 03:49 AM This seemed to be a budget friendly episode. Max's back problem was a convienient way to keep all the action in the apartment.
Still, Barbara did indeed look so cute in her jersey, especially her look when she realized her suggestion didn't pay off and Alex lost the game.
And, of course, any Alex-centric episode is tops in my book.

It almost was like it wasn't really a ODAAT ep??!! Like it was a back door/ spinoff pilot or something!!!! I didn't mind cause it featured my boyfriend Max and it was funny!!! ;):)
And yeah you are right. Limited actors/Budget !! ;) Ann and Schneider basically not in the ep. Michael, Valerie and Glenn carried this ep, with the help of all the kids and did it very well! ;) That's what I mean that it was like a spinoff series featuring Alex and his baseball team and Max as the coach, like a Bad News Bears type of thing! ;)
mets82 02-26-2016, 05:34 PM I liked when Max was making noises when he threw his back out. I think somebody has to hose Bonnie down.:) lol

I liked those noises he made too!!! :) ;) :D
I'd like to hear him making noises but not from pain, but by me pleasuring him!!! :happyface :happyface :happyface :D :D :D
We're not adults only anymore. What happened to the PG promise?
Bonniegirl 07-08-2016, 11:47 PM I just deleted it than! You and Sven can delete your posts responding to it too! I'm very sorry!! I'm sorry I was out of line! I'm embarrassed !!!!
Anna Karenina 07-09-2016, 02:00 AM Don't be embarrassed, I wish I had your imagination!:)
But I guess we have to be careful here, I know I can be a bit colorful myself at times.
Bonniegirl 08-25-2016, 12:53 PM A great spinoff after ODAAT finished would be Max coaching a boys baseball team.Like The Bad news Bears! :)
He was actually in a TV movie starring John Ritter in 1980 called "The Comeback Kid"! They coached a baseball team for Underprivileged kids! I'd love to get this movie!;) I think it's just on VHS though! :(
But I really think that would have made a cute good new show for Michael, being that he was so good in Hardball!;)

I agree, Bonnie.
Did I ever tell you how much I loved John Ritter? He revved up my engine pretty good, I am trying to use family friendly euphemisms as much as possible...
Its too bad we had to lose him so young. On 8 Simple Rules he looked rather unhealthy in retrospect. He and Lucy died from the same thing, aortic dissection. They were both good friends.

Yes! John was a very cool, funny guy! It was tragic that he passed away so young! :( Although he wasn't my type, he was a nice looking man! ;) He and Michael were friends .They had drama classes together in their college days at USC! The same age, Michael was just three months older! :)
Hey ,if we were college aged girls back than, we could have been their girlfriends and double dated!! How fun would that have been!!!??? :D  :eyes:
