While that's neat, Sue Ann was my least favorite of the lost girls. I hope Julie Ann Haddock shows up since Cindy was my favorite.

This was awesome. Truly awesome. As a fan of the lost girls, it was great seeing Julie Pie in the audience with Charlotte Rae, cheering Kim on. Kim and Julie shared a bunch of backstage photos on their Faceook pages. I'm really glad Julie got on DWTS, if even just as a featured audience member.

Also, it's awesome that they used a recreation of the First Season dorm set!

Oh, and '80sSitcoms, I suspect the longer Kim stays on, the more likely it is that we will see more FOL class/castmates: Julie Anne, Felice, Nancy, Lisa... heck, we could even possibly see Molly. Who knows?

I do know that Kim and Julie Pie have remained close all these years, so it was cool seeing Julie cheering from the front row. With Mrs. G!

Kim Fields Reunites With Mrs Garrett For Facts of Life Dance On DWTS (http://www.inquisitr.com/2963277/kim-fields-reunites-with-mrs-garrett-for-facts-of-life-dance-on-dwts/)

Kim Fields channeled her inner Tootie on Dancing with the Stars. The actress and Real Housewives of Atlanta star returned to her sitcom roots for her Most Memorable Year dance, which paid tribute to her classic ’80s sitcom, The Facts of Life. And Kim was even joined by an iconic Facts of Life star, who cheered her on from the audience.

To preface her dance, Kim Fields told a story of her bus trip from Harlem to Hollywood in 1976 when she was just 7 years old. That’s when she landed a life-changing acting role in a Mrs. Butterworth maple syrup commercial. Kim even beat out Janet Jackson for the role! The syrup ad led to Fields’ roles on Good Times and then NBC’s The Facts of Life.

Ahead of her dance, Kim told People that she knew the idea of a Facts of Life foxtrot would be unconventional, but she considered the dance to be “a big thank you note to the fans.”

“The idea of foxtrotting to the Facts of Life theme song sounds like complete oil and water and yet it works incredibly well. [Pro partner] Sasha [Farber] is an incredible choreographer and visionary and he’s doing everything he can to make sure I’m connecting with what my story is and revisiting my childhood.”

While it wasn’t a total surprise to see Kim Fields don a bedazzled Eastland School uniform for her Facts of Life tribute, fans were surprised to see her former co-star, Charlotte Rae, in the audience. The 89-year-old Rae, who played housemother Edna Garrett on the classic sitcom, reflected on working with a pint-sized Kim Fields when she was a child star on the classic sitcom.

Eagle-eyed viewers (and diehard Facts fans) may have noticed another Facts of Life alum in the audience. Actress Julie Piekarski, who played Eastland alum on early seasons of The Facts of Life, turned up to cheer on her lifelong pal Kim Fields.

Look for these two girls (and a few other surprises) tonight on #DWTS! Been pals ever since '79. I'm so thrilled Julie will be at the show cheering on #TeamKimsha! @dancingabc @sashafarber1 #factsoflife #blessedlife

Kim Fields’ return as Tootie earned her plenty of praise from the Dancing With the Stars judges and a respectable 22 points. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba even marveled over the fact that Fields looks exactly the same as she did when she played Tootie on TV more than 35 years ago.

The DWTS ballroom is not the first time Kim has reunited with her beloved Mrs. Garrett— er, co-star Charlotte Rae —this year. In February, Fields and Rae were part of a Facts of Life reunion on Hallmark Channel’s lifestyle show Home & Family. The actresses reunited with former co-star Lisa Whelchel to talk about their iconic 1970-1988 NBC sitcom.

In addition, Mindy Cohn (Natalie on the series) appeared via a video message, as did — wait for it! — George Clooney, who played dimwitted handyman George on the show, and Molly Ringwald, who got her start playing an Eastland School classmate on the first season of the sitcom in 1979. In a separate segment, Kim Fields joined Ken Wingard to make bedazzled roller skates in honor of her Facts of Life character.

Kim Fields may have moved on to reality TV with her stint on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but her Tootie character lives on—at least through dance.

Pretty cool article, and great photos of old friends.

I'm really glad Julie got on DWTS, if even just as a featured audience member.

It's good to know she was supportive of Kim and cheering her on, and not jealous of Kim like Sue Ann was of Cindy in 1980. Otherwise, this could have been a 36-year-later sequel to "Running" called "Dancing". ;-)

Also, it's awesome that they used a recreation of the First Season dorm set!

What looks really surreal is I put this pic in Windows Paint and edited out the audience to make it look "real", and it's very surreal seeing grown-up Tootie dancing alone with a guy in the common room---it looks like Tootie Ramsey's been a student at Eastland for over 36 years! (I wanted to share that version here, but I can't just copy & paste an image; looks like you have to have a URL from an internet page).

Yes, Molly and George's participation still STUN me. Molly (ostensibly) would not "demean" herself to appearing on the common television screen for a return appearance as Molly Parker, yet A-list Oscar-winner George Clooney appears on a little fluffy daytime home show. Amazing! (although one thing Molly said to Charlotte seemed to be morbidly inappropriate, lol)

Well, maybe they'll re-run it again (and Geri took part in the first group interview and then had her own interview later on). I recorded it and watched it all the way through once, then had it on "play" several more times while doing things around my place, and re-watching favorite segments. :-)

And I said Nancy McKeon did a "video message", but actually it was much more than that; she took part in the entire kitchen segment (which did not, as the hosts say, look made over to honor Edna's Edibles) via live video feed.

I just love the fact that they used the common room of the Dorm Set, giving a little love to the First Season. They did a really good job.

GC is definitely an A-lister, so it's absolutely cool that he did that video message for Charlotte. Molly was still hurt in 1986 when she did the interview about her worst gig being a recurring guest on TFOL, so I can understand why she wouldn't deign to appear that year on a sitcom she'd been "let go" from years earlier.

It's awesome that she now, finally, seems willing to talk about the show.

I'm surprised they went with that set, though I too am tickled over it. I think most people in my age range think of the cafeteria when they think of FOL, but I guess they thought a dorm common room looked a little more "fun" to dance in than a cafeteria with tables and chairs scooted out of the way, lol.

Yes, finally! Please Molly, give us a new book about your time on "Facts" instead of beauty tips! lol

And good point, I forgot that bitter interview was from the same year they did "The Little Chill" (which I saw in its entirety for the first time recently thanks to DVD; the Molly Parker part feels really uneven and falls flat, thanks to the circumstances of Molly Ringwald's non-appearance being so specific and dated and supposedly an "in joke" that only works in 1986).

Argh! I must find that clip!

Well just in case you don't, I'll go on and tell you. In closing says something to the effect of: "I'm so glad to be able to wish you a Happy 90th Birthday, and I hope I'll be able to wish you a Happy 91st". A year? She's not guaranteeing Charlotte will make it at least one more year?? Yikes! LOL...saying she'd hope to be able to wish her a Happy 100th would have been lovely, even 95th I could see that, but the very next #?? Come on Mols, have a little tact! lol I could imagine Charlotte thinking "Boy, ya sure don't have much in faith me do ya??" lol

Need to find this clip as well...

Yeah, the whole show is really good---and it's the full 2 hours! I thought maybe it would just be a segment or something, but the full 2 hours devoted to Charlotte and the show...AMAZING.

And Nancy shows us something she stole from the set in 1985---the Enda's Edibles sign! That's way too cool! And Kim was amazed she stole it, and Lisa said "Well she was Jo!" And Nancy was funny pretending how she could smell the food they were cooking, lol (they were making Lisa's Mexican cornbread, which Charlotte LOVES).

And here's another photo I fixed to make look "real" (no studio rafters overhead), the dance pic with the view of the front door:

I definitely never expected the dorm commons room, that's for sure. I would have expected the cafeteria or even the girls' room above the cafeteria. So this was a great, loving touch. Wonderful. And made even better by the presence of Julie Pie and Charlotte. It definitely felt Eastland-ish.

Yes, finally! Please Molly, give us a new book about your time on "Facts" instead of beauty tips! lol

haha! ;)

You never saw the episode before? Or you never saw the line about Molly that they usually cut in syndication?

I had seen it on YouTube (and perhaps in its original broadcast, but I was so young then), and someone in the comments detailed the cut part about Molly. If Tootie's lines about Molly were supposed to be an inside joke to her fame and why she couldn't make it, it just didn't work with her saying Molly's mom "wouldn't tell her why she can't make it, she's just busy" (huh?)...they should have just written a believable excuse, or maybe read a letter from her that she gave to Cindy to read to the gang. :)

Heh. Sure hope Charlotte didn't take it that way.

I hope not too, but yeah, that's the first thing that struck me, lol. And the hosts asked Char, Lisa, and Kim if they missed Molly when she was cut from the show and they affirmed they did, and Lisa said "And not just Molly, but all the other girls: Felice, Julie, everybody."

That sounds so funny. Must find more clips. And so cool about the EE sign... but wasn't that "burned" during the "fire"? Did she have a burned sign, or the original?

Yes, it was the burned sign! Nancy said she just LOVED that EE set, and the designers did such a fantastic job (who knew Nancy loved that set so much? Interesting)...and she said "and I have something!" and held up the burned sign. Kim was flabbergasted and asked "How'd you get that??" and she said "I stole it!"

No, I've already been to that link repeatedly. It doesn't work for me. The link is here (http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/home-and-family/videos/molly-ringwald-sends-her-best-wishes-home-famiy). When I click there, the description is "Molly Ringwald sends her best wishes". But the 8-minute video that plays is just of Lisa, Kim, and Charlotte. Then an ad plays, and a thumbnail of Molly comes up, but it doesn't play. If I hit the 'play' button, it circles back around to the video of Lisa, Kim and Charlotte.

While i agree, most black people don't look good with blonde hair, there are exceptions like Beyonce, Ciara, T-Boz. There are a lot of white women who don't look good with blonde hair either. Blonde hair is ok sometimes but it is really over-rated....
