View Full Version : I nearly drowned today
Crusinforabrusin 02-23-2016, 04:46 PM So I was getting ready to go in the pool and I was doing everything I'd normally do. Then without looking, I accidentally jumped in the deep end. I immediately fell to the bottom of the pool struggling to keep my head above the water. I was trying to get help but I couldn't yell. Luckily though, there were other people around who help pulled me out. I must've been in an altered state of consciousness because I remembered it when it was happening, but I sor'tve forgot it happened after when I was out of the pool.
All in all, I'm glad I am still alive and people were around to help me.

Penny Lane 02-24-2016, 02:16 PM My husband had a near drowning experience when he was a kid. He remembers it being not a bad experience . He said it was a good way to go. His brother rescued him. Glad you're ok!:)
MrCleveland 02-24-2016, 02:28 PM I'm glad that you're okay...many people don't make it when they drown.

Good way to go? I don't think so. Struggling to stay afloat, not being able to breathe, knowing you're going to die. If you ask me, drowning is a bad way to die

I don't know. I'm only repeating what he has told me. He insists there was nothing to it! A kind of euphoria sets in. I have read about other accounts of this same thing by other people. To this day he is not afraid of drowning. I imagine that struggling to stay afloat would be terrifying. But he never mentioned that.He was caught in the undertow of a wave. I guess he was so young that he didn't struggle. I'll have to ask him about that .

WOW!!!! OMG Marlene!!! I Think your husband might have been "passing over"! Maybe he was going towards the light, that is why he was so peaceful!!! On his way to heaven, and the Lord decided he wasn't ready to go and sent him back to live, and it was the Lord's will that his brother was able to end up saving him!! ;) He was meant to meet and marry you, have children and grandchildren!!! ;) :)
Because generally drowning would be scary and terrible, unless you got the sign from God and were going towards the light of heaven, you would be at peace!!! ;)

Could very well be Bonnie. But he was only about 4 or 5 years old so his memory is kind of foggy. But he insists that it was not scary at all! The wave probably pulled him under and had control of him . I know it sounds terrible! I have a certain fear of deep water myself. I never go in a boat without a life jacket!
Family Ties Forever! 02-26-2016, 04:12 AM Sorry to hear that.
