I was just listening to my CD of TV Theme songs today on the way to work I was wondering how many people liked Inspector Gadget? I was a fan even though he got the credit after Penny and Brain did all the work.

I was a fan even though he got the credit after Penny and Brain did all the work. Vahan 02-22-2016, 09:30 PM I used to watch this show all the time as a kid. Who knew that the creators drew inspirations from Get Smart (Don Adams Starred in both.) and Dynomutt? (Andy Heyward, who co-created Inspector Gadget worked on that show, and part of the idea of the main character, also came from the bumbling Blue Falcon.) Vahan 02-22-2016, 09:33 PM Here's a little-known fact about the show that is sure to become a well-known one soon. Originally, the Pilot, the one where Dr. Claw tries to sabotage the Winter Olympics, aired as a Sneak Preview on Saturday December 4, 1982. It was seen on five stations, all of which were owned by Field Communications, who co-produced the show in the first season, but filed for bankruptcy after said first season wrapped up production. (WFLD-TV Chicago, KBHK-TV San Francisco, WKBD-TV Detroit, WLVI-TV Boston, and WKBS-TV Philadelphia) Hawkee 02-23-2016, 02:34 AM I remember watching Inspector Gadget as a kid as well too and I thought it was such a cool cartoon and Dad and I would watch it on Nickelodeon and the most exciting thing that I liked about Inspector Gadget was when he would say "Go-Go Gadget" and a different gadget would appear and do you remember when Inspector Gadget's car would transform into a police car? That was so neat too. Inspector Gadget was the cartoon that I think made DIC Productions a household name and one of the best animation companies of cartoons of the 80's. In fact Inspector Gadget makes an appearence in one of the first DIC Productions logos where he places the dot on the I of the DIC Productions logo and it's so cool and worth checking out for Inspector Gadget fans, Inspector Gadget should be shown again in reruns someday because it is truly a classic cartoon of the 80's, Bestie TVQuack 02-23-2016, 06:22 AM Great cartoon, just finished off my set by purchasing the Christmas special since it wasn't included in the complete series set. king of comedy 02-23-2016, 05:46 PM One of my favorites and I say one of the best 80s cartoons. Only dvd release to include this original pilot is the very first Australian dvd set! ;) Hawkee 12-05-2019, 05:20 AM Reruns of Inspector Gadget can be seen on LightTV as part of their weekend cartoon hour. I didn't know LightTV showed cartoon reruns on weekends until I saw Inspector Gadget on there Bestie |
