Next Thursday, The Big Bang Theory joins the rarefied club of sitcoms to produce 200+ episodes. To celebrate this milestone, vote for your favorite sitcom to have accomplished such a feat. There were quite a # of options so I tried to pick a sitcom from each of the past 5 decades. You can of course name a sitcom not in the poll, because to my surprise, there are quite many.

Cheers And All In The Family. Bewitched is OK. The other 2 I really don't care for

Friends and The Office suck so the other 3.

One Day at a Time, 209 episodes, but in all good conscience, I can only recommend 208 of them.

The Schneider spinoff episode was pretty bad. lol

From the list I'd go with Cheers and The Office. I'm also a fan of Married with Children which went well into the 200s (259 to be exact).

I would have to say Cheers for the poll's sake but in all actuality I am picking Married...With Children 262 episodes of Bundy greatness.

True, but what I was subtly going for was the one episode Valerie Bertinelli missed. She did a minute in the Schneider spin-off.

My favorites are "The Jeffersons" with 253 episodes and "Family Matters" with 215 episodes.

I voted for "All in the Family". I also like "Cheers" and "Bewitched".

I voted for Bewitched with Cheers in 2nd. Not on the list that beats them both is Frasier.

Married with children, modern family, Steinfeld, and my favorite - 2 and 1/2 men ; 200 episodes yet?

Older comedies: McHale's Navy, Andy Griffin Show, Adam's Family, Leave To Beaver, Hazel?

I voted for Cheers since you left Frasier off the list.

Too many were left off and most of the choices are pathetic at best. It's a good idea for a poll but it needs to redone with more choices and not just one from each decade.

Out of the options for this poll I picked All In The Family. I enjoyed that shoe far more than I thought I would when I saw it a few years ago but that one isn't my favorite 200 plus episide sitcom.

The other 200 plus episode sitcoms I feel should be in the poll that I liked better than All In The Family are:

Happy Days- 258 episodes I think.
Family Matters- 215 episodes.

And, though it's quality is definitely debatable, if we're going to include shows that made it to 200 plus episodes period I'd put 2 and a Half Men on that list too.

I'm happy for Big Bang Theory. Though not my favorite current multi cam sitcom, it is quite good IMO and deserved to join that exclusive 200 plus episode club.

deserved to join that exclusive 200 plus episode club.

How exclusive is it? Is there a list somewhere of all the sitcoms that have hit that mark?

I also found this list dealing just with sitcoms, but for some reason it's not listed in numerical order

Thanks for posting that list Sal! There's a LOT more shows that have had 200 plus episodes than I thought! I was thinking the number was closer to 24, didn't think there were 40 though. It's still a pretty exclusive club not many shows manage to achieve. A lot of shows are lucky to get half that number of episodes in the end. But thanks for the list, saw quite a few shows I had no idea lasted that long.

I voted Friends. While I had seen an occasional episode in syndication, I just became a big fan when I watched them all in order on Netflix last year. Now it's my second favorite show. Cheers and All in The Family are also among my all time favorite shows. Bewitched I liked when I was a kid but can't really stomach now. I didn't know The Office had 200 episodes but I liked the early seasons. Though the superior British version soured my opinion on our longer running version.

I had assumed Seinfeld would be in the 200 episode club, but saw it is just 180. Having a combined 17 episodes from the first two seasons didn't help. The Middle and Modern Family are recent sitcoms that have joined the 200 episode club.
