I don't know. Married...With Children was pretty good on Fox. Putting it on HBO probably be more nudity for Al's dreams.

M*A*S*H was perfectly fine on CBS. HBO would have made it worse, filling with smut and making x-rated.

I nominate My Name is Earl. Basically the same setup but could do what network TV could not do. Could have made it more like "Shameless" (but not that dirty) or the Canadian show "The Trailer Park Boys".

My second choice is Parks and Recreation, since they did drop "s" and "f" bombs on occasion. Several examples.. I am Ron "f'ing" Swanson". Leslie complaining to Ann after the government shutdown that "They wont let us do s..t." In some scene outside in the woods when Chris (Rob Lowe) startled Andy (Chris Pratt) with Andy going "What the f..k Chris?" Ron (fake) pulled out a tooth with a pair of pliers and Donna exclaiming "What the f..k!"

I know some people dislike swearing on TV, but this was occasional swearing and yes, modern adults do swear, even polite professional ones. Don't like the "bleep", but it was such that we knew what it meant.

Honorable mention, Sanford and Son if Redd Foxx and Lawanda Page could have cut loose. I have heard LaWanda Page on YouTube and she was NASTY, even more so than Foxx. At least the so called "n-word" at the time was not censored in the context of African Americans saying it, but that would not be remotely allowed now.

I can see Married with Children on HBO. How about Melrose Place?

Most of those shows were fine as they were. Only reason to move them on HBO is for bad language and nudity. That doesn't make a show good or not.
