Jimmie Walker is calling The Original Good Times Cast Movie a “docu-drama-comedy.” Cast members, who are seeking to raise $1 million, claim that they can legally do the movie, even though Sony owns the rights, because they are not infringing on the copyright or trademark.

Kind of an oddball idea but interesting.

Neat idea, but not sure how much interest I have without Florida or James. I wonder if Bookman or Penny would be back? I doubt Janet Jackson has much interest. And the actor who played Keith has also passed, so who are you left with? J.J., Willona, Thelma and Michael? I think at this point I'd almost rather just watch them sit around and reminisce.

I don't agree... I think with four strong characters, J.J., Willona, Thelma and Michael, plus a couple of new additions, maybe Thelma's teen aged children, the show could roll well.

John Amos is also participating, so I don't know how they're going to explain his presence considering his character was killed in an auto accident--unless they come up with some strange conspiracy theory that he didn't really die afterall. He went into hiding under the government protection program. blah blah blah

Maybe he ran away from it all. A talented artist, yet clown for a son. A nagging always on her high horse wife. A somewhat melodramatic daughter. A closeted son. All this was too much for James Evans Sr. to take.
