I never give up hope for anything but sometimes I do get tired of waiting.

Basically, I haven't given up on the below shows, I've just gotten tired of waiting and went in search of "homemade sets"...

Mr. Belvedere: seasons 5 & 6 (thanks MRPITT)
Small Wonder: seasons 3 & 4
Green Acres: seasons 4, 5, & 6
Murphy Brown: seasons 2-10
Diff'rent Strokes: seasons 5-8
A Different World: seasons 2-6
227: seasons 2-5
Perfect Strangers: seasons 3-8
Blossom: seasons 3-5
Amen
Odd Man Out
The Ropers
Three's a Crowd
Hangin' with Mr. Cooper
Baywatch
Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place
Brotherly Love
The Golden Palace
The Torkelsons
Step by Step
One Day at a Time

I don't own these on "homemade sets" but I'm always in search of them in great quality:
Empty Nest
Chico and the Man
Too Close for Comfort
Major Dad
Thea
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Sanford & Sanford Arms
The Drew Carey Show (remaining seasons)
Benson (remaining seasons)
Archie Bunker's Place (remaining seasons)
Who's the Boss? (remaining seasons)
Alice (remaining seasons)

^ I understand but here are some shows I really got tired of waiting for so I would buy bootleg sets/make my own sets of these:
Small Wonder: Seasons 3-4
Mr. Belvedere: Seasons 5-6
My Two Dads: Season 3
Murphy Brown: Seasons 2-10
My Three Sons: Seasons 3-12
Too Close for Comfort
It's About Time
The Ropers
Three's a Crowd
Happy Days: Seasons 7-11
Love, American Style: Seasons 2-5
One Day at a Time: Seasons 2-9
Archie Bunker's Place: Seasons 2-4
Perfect Strangers: Seasons 3-8
Blossom: Seasons 3-5
The Love Boat: Seasons 3-9
Werewolf
Head of the Class
It's a Living
Julia
Marcus Welby, M.D.: Seasons 3-7
The Paper Chase: Seasons 3-4
^ I haven't given up hope for any of the above, I'd just buy bootlegs until they were officially released.

I really want a DVD recorder so I can burn

From Antenna TV: "Johnny Carson", Seasons 3-4 of "Small Wonder", Seasons 5-6 of "Mr. Belvedere", Seasons 2-9 of "One Day at a Time", Seasons 6-8 of "Newhart" (although things seem to be looking pretty good for "Newhart" on DVD), "Dear John" & "The Burns and Allen Show", "Too Close for Comfort", "The Ropers", "Three's a Crowd" & "It's About Time"

From Me-TV: "Svengoolie" and Seasons 7-11 of "Happy Days"

I wish Laff (I get Laff) would pick up "Murphy Brown", "Perfect Strangers", & "Blossom".

I also wish Antenna TV would pick up "Room 222" and "Julia" so I record my own sets of these. I wish Me-TV would bring back "Rhoda" so I could record Season 5 (I think these are unedited on their network.) I wish SOMEBODY would pick up "St. Elsewhere" (hopefully Me-TV soon!) so I could record my own set hopefully UNEDITED. I'm getting really tired of waiting for the remaining seasons of "St. Elsewhere".

I also wish Cozi TV would bring back "Marcus Welby, M.D." & pick up "The Paper Chase" & "Werewolf". I also think "Alice", "Chico & the Man" and "It's a Living" would make neat fits for Me-TV's comedy lineup.

Also, this is HYPOTHETICALLY if I had a DVD recorder which hopefully I will soon.

I have given up on:
It's a Living
Just the Ten of Us
The Hogan Family
The Donna Reed Show (S6-8)

I just wish a cable outlet would start running these (uncut but highly doubtful) so someone can make decent hi-quality sets.

Svenfan1234
02-13-2016, 01:11 PM
^ I think "It's a Living" still has a chance, as well as "Donna Reed". Shout! seems to be working with WB and Sony, so SOMETHING has to come out of those relationships, so why not those two shows? I know "It's a Living" has music clearance issues, but "WKRP" must have been worse and it came out, so don't lose all hope yet!

I'm surprised WB didn't release a "best of" release of "It's a Living" at the very least.

Father Knows Best DVD's were successful, so Shout Factory greenlighted Marcus Welby. But the gamble didn't pay off like they hoped it would. Marcus Welby isn't near as fondly remembered a show like Father Knows Best is. Also, releasing medical shows on DVD is risky. Some shows sell well, while others do not.

I don't think another company releasing it would make much difference, there would still be low sales. Marcus Welby just isn't that popular a show. If it sold below expectations for Shout Factory, sales are doubtful to improve with another company. But the way things are these days in the DVD market, there's always a possibility it could someday be released as a complete series.

I think this show would be a good candidate for Warner Archive to release. It is not that old and still has a recognizable cast. I loved it! Same goes for IT TAKES TWO. I am speaking of the 1982-83 Patty Duke, Richard Crenna, Anthony Edwards, Helen Hunt ABC sitcom, NOT the show starring those dreaded Olsen twins.

Aspire is still airing Julia. My provider just picked up the network a month or so ago. The episodes look clean and are fun to watch since I had only seen a couple episodes. However, they are cutting about 5 minutes out of each episode, and are running them in a crazy order, repeating some episodes multiple times, and skipping over others.
That channel does the same thing with Room 222 and the half-hour edits of The Flip Wilson Show.
