I don't see what the big deal is about the Super Bowl commercials. I think most of them are stupid, especially the ones that try to be funny. Those are the worst of the lot and done in extremely poor taste. The Budweiser ads with the Clydesdale horses are usually pretty good though.

Years ago, someone must have come up with the gimmick for people to watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. I imagine it was done to entice and attract the audience that has no interest in football or the Super Bowl, and get them to watch anyway, just to drive the ratings up. As far as I know, the Super Bowl is the only televised event during the year where the commercials draw as much attention, if not more attention, than the event itself.

Wonder what people did 30 years ago when it was no option to see them online the next day

I'm boycotting the Super Bowl until Cleveland either is in it...or hosting it!

And since neither will happen in the next 50 Super Bowls...I watched the Bill Murray Classic, "Groundhog Day"!...

It pretty much started in 1984 with the Macintosh computer ad. You can Google/YouTube it if you don't remember. It ran ONCE nationally, during the Super Bowl, and that was it. Never shown again.

LOL, don't get me started on the halftime garbage and those talentless hooligans that took over the field. And that Lady Gaga was chosen to sing the national anthem before the game. Yuck, she is absolutely horrible. :p

During halftime, I changed the channel to something else for 20 minutes, then went back to the game when the 3rd quarter started.

Surprised. I watched some of the pre game, the whole game, not halftime, the commercials, the post game. I also thought Lady Gaga did a great job. The game, as a whole, was lousy but I never intended on changing the channel.

I saw some of the kitten bowl before the Super Bowl was on! The black & white tuxedo kittens won right? I was lucky with the Super bowl, I wanted the Broncos, but I was rooting for the orange tabbies in the kitten bowl and they didn't win! :(

Yeah I missed pretty much all the commercials this year ! We had some neighbors in to watch with us, and I was up being a good hostess, getting drinks and refilling potato chip bowls up and stuff and going to the bath room (I was drinking beer ,making me have to pee more) :D during the commercials!! Luckily I was able to catch the sheep singing Queen commercial! :) That was adorable! But they all were saying I wasn't missing much ,the commercials weren't that great this year!

She's got thighs alright, she just isn't my type.

For me, one example of an attractive black woman is Karla Mosley, actress on Bold And The Beautiful. She sure looks fine to me! :eyes: :D

the commercials weren't that great this year!

I think that is because this was the 50th Super Bowl, so the focus was placed on that rather than the commercials. Next year, more focus will likely be placed again (unfortunately) on the commercials.
