In USA Today (and my list as well) The prescription ads came in DEAD LAST! :rip: :angryfire 1960'sTVfan 02-08-2016, 02:10 PM Wow, not even for the commercials? I don't see what the big deal is about the Super Bowl commercials. I think most of them are stupid, especially the ones that try to be funny. Those are the worst of the lot and done in extremely poor taste. The Budweiser ads with the Clydesdale horses are usually pretty good though. Years ago, someone must have come up with the gimmick for people to watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. I imagine it was done to entice and attract the audience that has no interest in football or the Super Bowl, and get them to watch anyway, just to drive the ratings up. As far as I know, the Super Bowl is the only televised event during the year where the commercials draw as much attention, if not more attention, than the event itself.  TVFactFan 02-08-2016, 02:22 PM I don't see what the big deal is about the Super Bowl commercials. And since neither will happen in the next 50 Super Bowls...I watched the Bill Murray Classic, "Groundhog Day"!... http://blog.kimblechartingsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/groundhogday.gif Far More Entertaining than the Stupid Bowl! opus 02-08-2016, 02:43 PM Years ago, someone must have come up with the gimmick for people to watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. You can Google/YouTube it if you don't remember. It ran ONCE nationally, during the Super Bowl, and that was it. Never shown again. opus 02-08-2016, 02:44 PM It's challenging because if you have to go to the bathroom you may miss a commercial. That's what the game is for. LOL, don't get me started on the halftime garbage and those talentless hooligans that took over the field. And that Lady Gaga was chosen to sing the national anthem before the game. Yuck, she is absolutely horrible. :p  During halftime, I changed the channel to something else for 20 minutes, then went back to the game when the 3rd quarter started. robyrob 02-08-2016, 04:56 PM I swear I didn't do that - it was MAGIC ..or possibly the CURSE of PAYTON MANNING. mets82 02-08-2016, 05:29 PM Surprised. I watched some of the pre game, the whole game, not halftime, the commercials, the post game. I also thought Lady Gaga did a great job. The game, as a whole, was lousy but I never intended on changing the channel. We had some neighbors in to watch with us, and I was up being a good hostess, getting drinks and refilling potato chip bowls up and stuff and going to the bath room (I was drinking beer ,making me have to pee more) :D during the commercials!! Luckily I was able to catch the sheep singing Queen commercial! :) That was adorable! But they all were saying I wasn't missing much ,the commercials weren't that great this year! 1960'sTVfan 02-08-2016, 08:24 PM It's challenging because if you have to go to the bathroom you may miss a commercial. lol Wonder what people did 30 years ago when it was no option to see them online the next day People recorded the game, commercials and all, on their VCR's. 1960'sTVfan 02-08-2016, 08:28 PM well the halftime show did feature Beyonce's Thighs:) Occasionally I see a black woman that I think is attractive, but Beyonce is not one of them. TVFactFan 02-08-2016, 08:49 PM Occasionally I see a black woman that I think is attractive, but Beyonce is not one of them. You didn't like those THIGHS?? Not true I saw the jeffersons commercial on N@N last night The shorter version 1960'sTVfan 02-10-2016, 07:27 PM the commercials weren't that great this year! I think that is because this was the 50th Super Bowl, so the focus was placed on that rather than the commercials. Next year, more focus will likely be placed again (unfortunately) on the commercials. |
