Does this count, or is this a stretch?

In Ghostbusters, Slimer, then known as Onionhead, started out as a villain, who was the first Ghost they ever caught. In the cartoon, The Real Ghostbusters, this was expanded on even further when it was established how Slimer became their sorta Pet. They felt that he was lonely, and that he could prove useful in fighting Ghosts. So he became part of the team.

He was also an ally in the second film, as well.

How about Carrie? Who didn't feel sorry for her?

Even though she kind of set fire to the school and murdered a ton of innocent people.

I never thought of her as a villain. Her mom on the other hand.

The birds in The Birds. Among other things, they're fed up being in us.
