View Full Version : Did anyone watch MJF on Larry King Live?
Paula 04-09-2002, 02:36 AM I know he's been making a few appearances on TV lately, but because I haven't made much time for TV these days, I've missed him several times.
So when I saw him on Larry King Live, I was a little surprised to see just how much he shakes.
I think he's a very brave person; and has a wonderful, optimistic atttitude about everything. I feel like if I were in his shoes, I would not be holding up so well.
SpinCT 04-09-2002, 01:25 PM Yeah, I also saw him and I totally agree with you. I also was surprised about how he shaked. My god, the disease is so strong! But as you say he's really optimistic. And I think he looked young for a 40 year old. I never saw an actor like that in my entire life. He's so brave and sincere. Mike is simply the best. Long life to him!!!:)
Brad Russ 04-09-2002, 05:10 PM Man if you thought he was shaking bad on Larry King, you should have seen him on Oprah. He was all over the place. It's interesting how he said it's actually the medicine that makes him shake like that. I didn't catch the first airing of him on Larry King, I set a tape for the midnight episode before falling asleep. Unfortunately I missed the first 5 minutes because of some breaking news on CNN. I thought he was great on the show though. I think he's going to be on the View tomorrow. Atleast that's what I heard. I'll have to set a tape for that one too!
Plata 04-09-2002, 05:56 PM I didn't see him on Larry King Live, but he appeared on a show about Parkinson's Disease on Sunday on CTV in Canada. I think he's aged quite a bit since he has had the disease. Although, for a guy who's going to be turning 41 in June, he doesn't look too bad. And, I think he's really brave in handling his disease, too.
Michael J. is awesome!
Plata 04-12-2002, 06:11 PM I saw the Larry King Live show with Michael J. on it last night. My dad taped it for me at his place on Monday. Actually, he doesn't seem to look that bad. On CTV I guess it was just the lighting they have. I thought it was a really good interview.
:) :p :happyface
branch1985 04-12-2002, 09:25 PM God he just made me think of him as a great person even more..He was so nice, intelligent, and funny..He is so awesome and brave...It was pretty sad when I watched him shaking though..
I watched him on Larry King. Inspirational man, he is. I looked up his web site afterwards and will go back again. Check it out everyone! I think it's <michaeljfox.org>
MJFfan 04-13-2002, 12:31 PM It bwas pretty cool to see how he made a joke of it on Oprah. He was so nice and funny! The only thing that bothered me was that he obviously iddn't beleive in God but Oh Well.
SpinCT 04-13-2002, 01:55 PM I often wonder if Mike believes in God or not. Can you tell me why do you think he doesn't believe in God? What did he say? Thanks.

Why did it bother you that he doesn't believe in God? Everyone is entitled to there own beliefs. Personally, I always thought he did believe in God.
branch1985 04-13-2002, 09:08 PM I wonder do you guys know if he is a republican? JUst curious.
Paula 04-13-2002, 11:23 PM I don't know anything about his religious beliefs, but he has made a few indications in the past that he believes God exists.
I have an old copy of People magazine with his picture on the cover, dated December 4, 1989, just shortly after BTTF II was released.
Here is a clip of what was mentioned in the main article:
Not that Fox's descritpion of fatherhood is completely saccharine. With a smile, he describes how he juggles his Family Ties and Back to the Future Part II shooting schedules to accommodate Lamaze classes. "My wife calls it the Alan Alda crap," he says of the natural childbirth coaching lessons. "Whenever I'd say, 'Honey, if I could do it for you, I really would,' she'd say, 'Okay, thank you Alan.' But Tracy had a really good pregnancy and it was a good delivery. Thank God, she was healthy and Sam was healthy."
Well, I guess that doesn't tell us much, but obviously there is a slight indication there that he believes God exists ("thank God"). Then again, perhaps he was just spitting out the first words that came to his mind.
As for which political party he's in favor of- I have no idea.
Brad Russ 04-13-2002, 11:59 PM About two years ago I saw an interview Michael did with Diane Sawyer. In it he said when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's I wasn't mad at God. Maybe i'm wrong, but that statement leads me to believe that he does believe in God. I'm reading his book now, and i'll tell you if he writes anything about God or not when i'm finished reading. And for anyone who says who cares whether or not he does, the fact is some people do.

Why should it matter if he believes in god or not? Sure, he's sick and all, but shouldn't a person be judged by their soul other than whether they have a belief in god or not? He's such a nice guy, so why should it matter?
SpinCT 04-14-2002, 12:52 PM I totally agree with you Plata. There's no more I can say. Mike is a nice guy, that's just what matters. And I don't think he's a Republican because the Republican party doesn't help the research for PD.
Brad Russ 04-14-2002, 02:39 PM What's wrong with people wanting to know whether Michael believes in God? I'm sure it matters to God whether a person believes in him or not. I know this post has gotten way off topic but since it has gotten to this point, I must comment. People ask what is Michael's favorite food, and how tall are the people in the cast, and all that kind of stuff so what's wrong with someone asking if he believes in God? It's the same thing, only more serious.
Madness 04-19-2002, 01:28 AM It was very sad. I hope they find a cure for it like they should all the other illnesses in the world. I think a telethon would be a good idea for him. He does have the Hollywood connection!
FamilyTiesFan 04-20-2002, 06:56 PM I once read an interview of his with Sarah Jessica Parker and he said he was a liberal democrat.
SpinCT 04-20-2002, 07:03 PM ;) I'm glad he is a democrat!!!! I was pretty sure of it,since the republicans don't give a damn about Parkinsons. Mike is a great guy for sure!
branch1985 04-20-2002, 09:02 PM That is so awesome! I'm glad he is a democrat because (no offense to Republicans) but Democrats usually care a lot more about people than Republicans as you can see by the way Alex acts on Family Ties. :)
