I'm sure this was featured on UM, but I can't find it.

The details I have are hazy, but it had to do with a woman's murder. I remember her body was found in a field, and there had been something going on prior in her apartment—I think they may have thought her upstairs neighbor had been involved? I'm not entirely sure.

I believe this occurred in the Midwest if memory serves correct.

I remember being haunted by the episode, but I can't track down which case it was.

Ring any bells for anyone? I know the details are vague.

Police Chief Greg Webb, who was wanted for the murder of his neighbor Anna Anton. Occurred in Nebraska.

The Anna Anton case; thank you! I'm so happy to have found a message board this active on the topic of UM. The IMDb board is rather abysmal.

Speaking of this case, I know there's been a lot of discussion over the years that the segment never showed a picture of Anna Anton and wondering why that was. It's purely speculative, but an article I recently found suggested that Anna had sustained several facial deformities (in the same accident that caused the injury to her leg) and wore heavy makeup to cover it up. Anna's stature is also described as being "frail". I have to wonder if UM didn't show a picture out of respect to her and that they wanted people to focus more on catching her killer than her looks.

Also states Webb shot her three times and slashed her throat. Jesus, what a pig. Can't believe that lowlife got out after only a few years in prison.

I always wondered about that. I know Anna had "another side" to her. It makes me sad if her past was taken into consideration. She certainly didn't deserve what Webb doled out to her.

I always thought the re-enactment scene with Anna and Greg arguing while the door slowly closes was one of the most haunting scenes of UM. It was simply fantastic.
