Terrific news. What's funny is that as recently as last August, when asked on their Facebook page about future Newhart releases, the answer was to the effect that "if there is a Season 5 release, it won't be from us". I guess Shout and Fox must have kissed and made up after their little spat, lol.

I know, it is kind of funny. I sent them an email a few months ago and they said "we only have the rights to seasons 2, 3, & 4. We don't have the rights for any further seasons.".

Glad things changed!

I want to pick this up (and I will eventually) but I have SEVERAL shows (27 sets to be exact) that I'd need to buy before this one. This will probably creep on my list in May or June.

Anyone have the scuttlebutt about this wonderful news? Does SHOUT! have the rights to the rest of the series, or are they hoping to make deals one season at a time?

I wish someone would ask them about more "Mr. Belvedere", "Diff'rent Strokes", and "Small Wonder".

^^^Diff'rent Strokes is my most-wanted show in a complete series set. Followed by Rhoda and One Day at a Time.

Who received their sets today? It'll have to wait at least another month for me.

I bought my set from amazon last week so I should receive it on Tuesday or Wednesday! Can't wait to have a Newhart marathon!

I've been watching season 5 and I'm just 3 episodes away from completing it.

This is an awesome season!

Just a heads up, the episode "My Two and Only" has a disclaimer at the beginning of the episode warning about poor quality. It looks like certain small parts of the episode were taken from a VHS copy and edited in. It also looks like a network's logo is blurred out in the corner of the screen in these scenes. This however does not keep me from enjoying the episode or the set.
