It would have been nice if she had said why they wanted to fire carlton

I know what you're talking about. I think Carlton is always being a pure idiot along the way, but firing Carlton wouldn't be the best answer because he knows how to help correct himself along the way.

This is before the Carlton Dance so at the time you can see how he looked dull

What a terrible decision that would have been for the long term! Without Carlton, so many terrific quotes would have gone out the window since basically all of Will's humor played off of Uncle Phil's weight, "fly honeys," and Carlton's character as a whole. Even without Will's quips, Carlton himself is an essential character to the show. His unrealistic materialism and wild drive to reach the top of the totem poll easily places him in second place behind Will for the show's best character.

Remember he was kind of dull in the pilot

Yeah, he was definitely duller, but firing him would have been too hasty; I'm glad that didn't materialize!

Carlton didn't start off as dull as we might think, though. Who can forget his line about playing a "set of tennis or two?" Good stuff right there!

Geoffery and Hilary stood out more than Carlton in that 1st episode

Especially during the 6th season, he became an annoying idiot.

The only issue I had with him is when he would act gay. Like when he wanted to hug will

Carlton is probably my favorite character on this show, and it's hard to judge a show by its pilote episode anyway. So I'm really glad that Carlton was allowed to stay.
