View Full Version : Keurig machine
treky 01-31-2016, 02:51 AM who here has one of these? Do you use it to make anything other than coffee? If so what? And if not why not? Also do you use filtered water or tap water.
We use both in ours and use it to make coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and soup.
We have one. I think you pretty well covered the beverages. We've also done apple cider.
Torgo 01-31-2016, 12:40 PM We have something similar, though a different brand. But most of the coffee flavors we buy are Keurig brand. I use mainly coffee, and hot chocolate. My and wife and daughter mainly use it for tea.
We have one at my office. We use it for tea and coffee. It broke during last tax season... (I work at a CPA firm). I'll just say it wasn't pretty.
Hawkee 03-12-2021, 06:10 AM I have never understood the hype about Keurig machines and I cannot figure out how they have become popular and sales of them have exploded like rockets? I remember when the Senseo coffee machine was a huge seller but then the Tassimo machine was released and it too was popular as well. But it seems that every Christmas people buy Keurig machines for Christmas gifts and since James Corden is the spokesman for Keurig he helps it sell like hotcakes. But now I've seen Keurig machines in places like dentists and doctors and even hotels have them as well so it seems that the Keurig has replaced the traditional coffeemaker

I don't care for Keurig machines at all. I prefer my coffee a little on the strong side, and consequently always feel as though the machine "shorts" me.
Plus go over to youtube and run a search for "dirty keurig"...blech!!

Same here, I like my coffee very strong. Plus their coffee is more expensive than buying ordinary Folgers.

You don't have to use their brand, we don't have a Keurig, but I'm pretty sure all of them use the same k-cups, we use 'Donut Shop' brand, and they very inexpensive.
We still use a regular coffee maker, but sometimes it's nice to be able to make a cup of flavored hot drink, not just coffee, but cider and others. Also, if it's a morning I'm the only one drinking coffee, l just use the filter cup and I can make a nice cup of hot coffee and not waste a pot as some mornings I only drink one cup.

It broke a long time ago. Don’t have one anymore.
Caroline13 03-13-2021, 03:56 PM Not into fads here, give me my good ole glass tea pot and my one cup filter for my one cup of coffee and when I drank tea, again a cup and teabag and kettle. How did the generation before me ever make it?
1960'sTVfan 03-13-2021, 05:43 PM I've never liked the taste of coffee and don't drink it but I enjoy tea and there's an assortment of different flavors that I like. Hot tea is good in the winter time and cold/iced tea is good in the summer time. I buy tea bags from the Twinings Tea Company on their website TwiningsUSA.
JamesG 03-14-2021, 01:46 AM I use a Keurig machine and my favorite brands are Gevalia, Paul Newman, Dunkin, and Peet’s. I also use it for tea and use the Twinings English Breakfast Cups. My father gave me this neat thing where you can put your own ground coffee into the cup so you can use whatever coffee you want in the machine.
This happened to me a few months ago.. I bought a box of Chock Full o Nuts cups from a local supermarket (they are Keurig compatible and are not under the Keurig brand) and inside the box was Starbucks coffee cups. The box was sealed and didn’t look tampered with so I told the store and they said it was an error in the factory.

LOL..same here.
My Keurig one cup coffeemaker broke around 5 to 6 years ago & I never bothered to replace it because I just make coffee the old fashioned way & find that easier.
Plus I rarely drink coffee anyway.
ponytail 03-16-2021, 06:20 AM Got one as a gift. Rarely used it. Ending up giving it away.
Coffeecup 03-20-2021, 08:13 PM I wouldn't buy a Keurig for I think buying the Kcups or what they are called are wasteful. I do love coffee but I drink it the simplest way possible: instant.

Plus they're probably bad for the environment too.
