A while back, I wrote about "Perry Mason" movies that were being syndicated on a local network here in New Jersey. I wrote about them here because several of the episodes were made the same year that the actresses who played two of the babes on "Mad About You" were born. These are the actresses who played Fran and Lisa. By the way, the year in which all of this took place was 1960. Well, at one-thirty this morning, something else happened that also pertains to 1960. You see, from one to two each morning, a network called Boomerang broadcasts syndicated episodes of the "Flintstones". This show made its debut in 1960. This network, for the most part, broadcasts the episodes in the order in which they were originally shown. By checking the schedule last night, I could see that, from one to one-thirty, the episode that would be on was "Rocky's Raiders". This was the last episode of the original series. From one-thirty to two, they went back to the beginning of the series with the "Flintstone" flyer"! Just for fun I am writing about the fact that this morning's second "Flintstone" episode was made the same year that two of the chicks who starred on "Mad About You" were born!

When I first saw this thread title I was thinking Oh cool, somebody is posting about the Flintstones. I love the Flintstones and wish their threads were more active! Here's a pic from the Flintstone Flyer ep. Season1 was so different from the rest. The animation was way different. The characters looked smaller or something and Barney talked in a high pitched voice!

In the first place, thank you very much for the picture. I found your reply to be very interesting. I am very happy to have thought of a topic that was able to stimulate some conversation. I like the "Flintstones" a lot too. I agree that they did change a lot as the years went on. However, this happens a lot with shows that are on for a long time. It happened quite a bit with "Mad About You". The birth of Mable took the show in a very different direction. When I first started this thread, I mentioned the fact that two of the chicks who starred in "Mad About You" were born the same year that the first "Flintstones" episode was made. These are the two babes who would play Fran and Lisa. I think that the character of Fran was especially hot! One of the few things in life that I enjoy even more than the "Flintstones" is the site of Fran in designer jeans! I also think that she looked pretty good in a skirt with hose. Oh baby!

Very different.

Different house, maybe not even in Bedrock, no Barney and Betty, no Dino but rather a large dinosaur and, most bizarre of all, a son for Fred and Wilma named Junior.

Yes!!! I had read that on another Flintstone thread!!! How cool! When I was little I had quite a collection of those Little Golden books. I don't recall having the Flintstones though? I'm tempted to see if Amazon has them and buy it! ;) :)

I find it amazing how much conversation this thread has stimulated! I have also read a lot of Golden Books, but I had no idea of the "Flintstone" books that the poster who came before me mentioned. I find it interesting that, for the sake of the books, they changed the structure as much as was explained in this reply. As fond as I am on the "Flintstones" writing about them here was originally an excuse to write about the sexiness of some of the babes on "Mad About You". For the record, this was my favorite show during its full, seven-year run! The way that I tied the "Flintstones" in was by mentioning how two of the chicks who starred on "Mad About You" were born the same year that the "Flintstones" was made. The actress who was born in 1960 that I am especially fond of is the one who played Fran. Like I said earlier, I thought that she was hot stuff! I would say that, on this series, Fran and Paul's mother Sylvia were tied for having the best looking butts. I loved it when either of them were wearing designer jeans and their back were to the audience! I also thought that Fran had a nice pair of legs and looked great in a skirt with hose. If other posters want to continue to elaborate on the "Flintstones", they is fine with me. However, another thing that I would really enjoy would be reading other peoples' ideas about the sexiness of these babes!

It seems as if, just like anything else, the novelty of this thread has run its course. Like I explained in my last reply, starting the thread in the first place was really an excuse on my part to write about my fondness for Leila Kenzle who played the part of Fran. I took the fact that, that morning, a "Flintstone" episode that was made the same year the she was born was on and used that in an attempt to stimulate some conversation. In any event, I am happy to have had the amount of conversation that we have already had regarding the "Flintstones" itself. Because Anne Ramsay who played Lisa from "Mad About You" was also born the same year as this "Flintstone" episode's debut, I tied that in as well. Well, before moving on, I would like to point something out to whomever might be interested. When I first started this thread, the "Flintstones" were on the "Boomerang" network from one until two each morning. Since then the schedule has changed. They are now on the same network from three until four-thirty each morning. One of the by-products of this change is that now there are three episodes per day when they had only been two.

That is far from true. On this very thread on this very day, I wrote about the fact that the "Flintstones" is on at a different time than it was when I first started the thread. Before that I wrote about the fact that I had never seen or heard of the "Flintstone" books that one of my fellow posters had mentioned. I also started a new thread about a recent movie with Meryl Streep and how fond I am of her as an actress. As fond as I am of female butts, there is a lot more to me and my posts than that.
