View Full Version : Cavs Fire David Blatt!
MrCleveland 01-23-2016, 01:28 PM CLEVELAND-- The Cleveland Cavaliers fired head coach David Blatt on Friday.
Assistant coach Tyronn Lue will take over after agreeing to a multi-year deal as the Cavaliers' head coach, according to Yahoo Sports.
In addition to addressing the pulse within the locker room, Griffin said the decision to let Blatt go and promote Lue was made without the consultation of the players.
“This is my decision, our basketball staff’s decision,” Griffin said emphatically while trying to dismiss the notion that LeBron James was behind the coaching change. “I got ownership’s approval. I’m not taking a poll. My job is to lead this franchise."
Ultimately, what caused the Cleveland Cavaliers to make a coaching chance despite being in first place in both the Central Division and Eastern Conference was their inability to handle success.
Currently, at 30-11, the Cavaliers are in first place in both the Eastern Conference and Central Division standings. The Cavaliers enjoy a 3.5-game lead over the Toronto Raptors (27-15) for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and 5.5-game edge over the Chicago Bulls (24-17) in the Central Division standings.
Only In Cleveland...ohno:ohno:ohno:ohno:ohno:
And in December, the 6-38 76ers extended their coaches contract. Strange league.
TVFactFan 01-24-2016, 02:06 AM Well Blatt did kind of look clueless on the sidelines
irehtman 01-26-2016, 02:40 PM Yeah, Dave Blatt was too supportive on Lebron James, but the cavs bounced back last night beating the timberwolves!

What the hell does beating sh*tty Minnesota mean? I know, DIDLEY POOP
isiahthomas 02-06-2016, 02:01 PM LOL@MrCleveland, Opus and TVFactFan hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Tyronn Lue who replaced David Blatt has been doing alright so far. They did lose to Boston yesterday by a winning shot by Avery Bradley. I think the Cavs will get back to the finals but they'll lose to the Warriors because the Warriors are very good. Stephen Curry is unstoppable. There's just no defending that guy LOL. He scored 51 points against the Wizards on Wednesday. The Warriors play Oklahoma on ABC network today in Oakland, California at 9pm and that should be good. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are very good for Oklahoma but I think the Warriors will win. Did ya'll see how bad the Warriors beat the Spurs last week by 30 points? The Warriors are for real and they'll probably win championships for the next several years. I'm a Cavs fan but I don't see them winning championships before Lebron retires hahahahahahahahahaha. They just aren't good enough.

GS definitely going 41-0 at home this year. LOL

I doubt any Cleveland Team will win it all in anyone's lifetime...
The Cavs will go to the Finals and lose...
The Indians may be in the World Series soon, but will lose...
The Browns will NEVER be in the Super Bowl, let alone host it!
There's NEVER Next Year...
There's NEVER Next Year...
But your location says Where It's ALWAYS Next Year!

In Cleveland, everyone says "There's Always Next Year", like a broken record. That's why I use it since it's our mantra!
All I know is that since it's been our motto, no one here sees that There's Never Next Year...hence why we're the Mistake-on-the-Lake!

Well...none of Cleveland's professional sports teams have won since 1964...and equaling it all up, that's 170+ losing seasons!
We should get the "Next Year" title...I feel it's The Curse of Wahoo!
1960'sTVfan 02-10-2016, 07:21 PM GS definitely going 41-0 at home this year. LOL
I think they'll lose at least 1 home game, maybe 2. Some team will eventually come along and whip them on their home court.
isiahthomas 02-17-2016, 05:04 PM LOL@MrCleveland hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I don't see anybody beating the Warriors on their home court.
isiahthomas 02-17-2016, 05:06 PM Cavs and Bulls play tomorrow on TNT and Cavs play Oklahoma on Sunday on ABC channel. I wanna see Cavs and Oklahoma because that's gonna be a good game and it's in Oklahoma at 3:30. Bulls suck because they've been losing a lot lately and Jimmy Butler is gonna be out for awhile. Cleveland should beat them easily. I heard trade rumors that the Cavs might trade Kevin Love but I don't think they should do that. He hurt his shoulder in their last game against the Lakers which is the same shoulder he hurt against Boston in last season's playoff game.

I hear that Anderson Varajaeo is going to Portland.
He was good, but I think he's past his prime...

Varajaeo is home now because he was released:lol:
isiahthomas 03-10-2016, 03:32 PM MrCleveland, Anderson Varaejo has never been good hahahahahahahahaha. He's a weak defender because he flops and he's not a good scorer. The Warriors got him TVFactFan and he'll get a championship this season which will piss off some Cavs players hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Tyronn Lue who's the Cavs coach hasn't done better than David Blatt because the Cavs are still inconsistent even though they're leading their division. I didn't like David Blatt and I'm glad he's gone because I didn't like the fact that he didn't play certain players often like Maurice Williams and Richard Jefferson. Tyronn will get the Cavs to the finals but they'll lose to the Warriors again LOL.
1960'sTVfan 04-03-2016, 12:01 AM LOL, I knew Golden State would eventually lose at home, congrats to Boston for ruining the hated Warriors perfect home record. Girly boy Stephanie Curry looks like a little punk with his mouth guard hanging loose all the time, the NBA shouldn't allow him to do that. I would love to see someone slap his face and knock that damn thing to the floor. San Antonio is still undefeated at home, 39-0, but their two remaining home games are against GS and OKC.

I agree I wish step would stop with the mouth guard hanging out of his mouth

He is so damn annoying, I hate that motherf***er.
simmytbone 04-03-2016, 01:22 AM I'd rather put up with him than with LeBron James who whines to referees and gets arrogant in his interviews
I hope SOMEBODY beats the Cavs in the Playoffs and I'll be ONE HAPPY PERSON!!
I like Boston Celtics and they are the future of the Eastern Conference and the Atlantic Division and I like Brad Stevens
The Celtics have def. the Cavs and Warriors on the road just like the Spurs def. the Cavs & Warriors on their own home turf

I don't see it happening which is why I won't watch any Cavs games until the Finals
Boston....No
Toronto....No
Atlanta........HELL NO
So I am already prepared for the Cavs to sweep through the eastern playoffs
1960'sTVfan 04-04-2016, 08:27 PM Boston might have a chance of making it to the finals, the East Conference isn't that strong. Cleveland isn't unbeatable, neither is Toronto. Boston is the only team so far this season to win in Golden State, so I'd say they are capable of anything.
MrCleveland 04-06-2016, 12:58 PM I'd still like to see the Cavs win it all...
The Bulls couldn't beat the Jazz one year in the regular season and they won it all.
simmytbone 04-08-2016, 08:17 PM The Miami Heat still have a chance to beat the Cavs in the Playoffs and LeBron James said that he was concerned about that
Of course, I'm not a fan of Cleveland or LeBron
also, the West will ALWAYS be better than the East b/c the West is strong and plus, too many people are either leaving the East for the West or too many injuries or coaches that don't know what the hell they're doin'
1960'sTVfan 04-09-2016, 01:28 AM I think they'll lose at least 1 home game, maybe 2. Some team will eventually come along and whip them on their home court.
How about that, I was correct, Golden State DID lose twice at home, first to Boston, then Minnesota. I figured the pressure of trying to win 73 games would eventually get to them.
MrCleveland 04-09-2016, 08:23 AM Looks like the 96 Bulls may be celebrating!
And if the NBA expands to 32, there should be 17 teams in the east.

Kerr played for the 95-96 Bulls, so maybe secretly he wants that 72-10 record to remain unblemished. 73-9 is still possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors lost another game or two before the regular season is over.

Could be. They have three games remaining, tough games too, one vs. the Spurs and two vs. the Grizzlies. I could see them losing two of those three games and end up finishing 71-11. Will see what happens.

Without the 3 pointers they finish 70-12

4 of the 5 Warriors starters played over 30 minutes tonight in the win vs. Memphis, that doesn't look like resting the starters to me. Bogut was inactive and didn't play in the game.
If Golden State wins their next game tomorrow at San Antonio, then I would say they are on their way to 73 wins. Spurs are still undefeated at home, I'm sure the Warriors would love to hand them their first home loss. Should be a great game.

I hate Michael Jordan so much that I rather they get 73 or finish at 71. I don't want to see them tie the Bulls

I didn't like Jordan either. Great basketball player but very cocky and arrogant, he had a way of getting into opponents heads and psyching them out, he taught his teammates some of his head game tricks, he did whatever he had to in order to win basketball games, he didn't care.
Golden State was lucky to win last night, they didn't really play well and Memphis choked down the stretch, blew their lead and lost the game.

Well, since Golden State didn't go undefeated at home, I guess the NBA didn't want San Antonio to be undefeated at home either, Spurs just lost at home vs. the Warriors, and looked bad in the process. It was almost like the Spurs laid down and handed the Warriors the win. Golden State is near certain now to finish with 73 wins.

I didn't think they had a shot when the game was 65-65 and Green, Curry, and Thompson was on the bench
But the bench came through
MrCleveland 04-12-2016, 01:55 PM Well...
The Cavs are 1st in the Eastern Conference!
I wish this would break the worst sports deficit in professional sports...but I doubt it!ohno:ohno:ohno:
