I agree about Big Bang. I actually watched it when it started but the show changed, its not funny at all now.

As for other shows I find overrated....pretty much all the trash on TV these days, JMHO

modern family its a decent show and I have gotten some laughs out of it but critcs treat it like it is the be all and end all of sitcoms and I have no idea why:confused:

A lot the modern dramas that air on cable or have aired on cable, like Mad Men and Nip/Tuck. Many of the characters are unsympathetic and unlikable and there seems to be things done for shock value that really don't enhance or help the plot along.

I like most of the shows on here but its just that they are really overrated

I have rarely watched any series after the 80's so cannot comment on those.
For the 50's through the 80's these are the ones I didn't and still don't like and never got the appeal:

The Golden Girls. They stole the concept from The Facts of Life. 4 females living together and they even have the similar personalities as the FACTS girls. The only reason why Golden Girls is placed above Facts is because of sexism. Old women aren't expected to be sexy, so they have the option to look and act however they want. Teenage girls are expected to be beautiful like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. The Facts of Life girls looked like REAL teenage girls. The Facts girls got a lot of flack for the way they look from ignorant ass misogynists such as Joan Rivers but i bet her ass sat and watched the Golden Girls though.

It was taken from a promo done by Selma Diamond and Doris Robert for Miami Vice. NBC execs combined that with the idea taken from a USA Today article that discussed a doomed life for women past 50. They took it from the standpoint of saying life is NOT over and you can do it with your friends. The Golden Girls had nothing to do with Facts of Life whatsoever. In fact, it was created to appeal to an older audience, in order to widen the viewer scope of NBC. What they found, however, was that the audience included both older and young folks anyway.

To me...today's sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, and Two and a Half Men are HIGHLY overrated!

They just use the Friends formula, but have everyone be bland except for one, that'll be the most hated sitcom character on the show!
