The 83-year-old Osgood is in talks to end his two-decade run as host of the CBS News program.
He started in 1994 when Charles Kuralt quit out and passed it on to him, so he's been there more than two decades. I hear from that article that Jane Pauley is in the running as one of several contenders (she has done a few before in Osgood's absence, so I think she might be the one to do it).
When Osgood quits out and passes it on to the new man (or woman, in the case of Jane Pauley), will he do what Charles Kuralt did in 1994 when Kuralt passed it on to him?

Osgood’s impending departure “was not his idea,” a friend tells the NY Daily News. Another source says: "Anyone who claims otherwise is serving up layers of B.S. and lying through their teeth - as self-serving network executives always do.”
