Does anyone have the scoop on the pictures in the opening credits? They appear to be painted photographs. They changed through the seasons, but were always fascinating to look at. I'm curious as to who created these pictures or any other information anyone may have. Thanks. :)

I have no idea where they're from or who created them, but they are finteresting to look at.

That "We Won" always seemed to be there though.

From what I understand, those were real photos, they were just colored in which perhaps makes them look artificial. The "We Win" photo was always used probably because it was the last time the Red Sox won the World series which was about 1918 I believe.

half are drawings, half are actual photographs. everything from the time when it turned to the old-fashioned drawings (the front shot of the bar), to the "Starring"-Ted Danson/Shelley Long picture are drawings. everything after that are photographs.

i always assumed the "We Win" (Which IS a photo, not a drawing) was referring to WWI.

One thing I wonder about the "We Win" picture is if the producers saw that and said "this is what Coach should look like". The guy in the picture is wearing a white short-sleeve shirt and a black tie, which Coach always wore. The only difference is that the guy in the picture is wearing glasses.

hey guys!that is an interesting question.I also started wandering about that a long time ago and asked myself are those drawings and i wondered if they were photographed in color. You have mentioned that they were colorized, but do you know if they were also some of them taken in color.Still great observation.Do any of you know by any chance if those people in the photographs were patrons of the real bar in boston somwhere.Who are the are all of
these people in the photographs. It is really interesting i find.I love the credits and i really really really do agree that they definitlly work well with the theme so and mostly defintilly the show and suit the all of CHEERS IN GENERAL.IT IS VERY CREATIVE AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY DON,T SHOW pictures or footage of the cast.Does anyone know by any chance why they don,t decide to include pictures of the cast.Don,t get me wrong i feel it suits the show really well.Just currious was it just for reasons to decide to be differant or was there way more reason behind it all.I,m just wondering about that all.thanks CHEERS!

i believe none of the photographs were taken in color, only because when <whoever it was> recolored them for NBC(around season 6), they looked totally different. and the drawings i think were black and white too, cuz they looked different too

i think they were random photots from bars across the US, around the turn of the century. i think they actually had a professional artist do the drawings.
who found them and who drew them? no clue

I think the woman they show with Kirstie Alley's name looks exactly like her, anyone else see that.

i think i figured out where they got alot of the pics(photos)...the walls of the actual Bull and Finch Pub. why not? i saw a picture of there from the late 70's and there were all kinds of old fashioned pics(from bars) but i didnt see any from the theme.

maybe...

I think they tried to get every actors pic they used to resemble their characters.

the original Sam/Diane pic didnt resemble them much, but Teds 2nd pic(from Kirstie years) does kinda. Kirsties...yeah, like u said (lol). Coach...NOT like the bartender in his pic. We never see the lady in Rhea's pic, so we dont know. John's pic doesnt look much like him, but it reminds u of him somehow. George's first pic DOES look like him(not the face tho). we already talked about the "We Win" pic too(no clue why George's name stays on that pic.) from what i've seen of the producers, the last person doesnt look too much like any of them.

woody's pic does look like him kinda. so does Frasiers. and Lilith's. its like the ppl who joined the cast later got better pics lol.

I think it all the pics are meant to kinda match their personalities if not their looks. Like Jon R.'s pic is of a bar no it all and Ted/Shelley is a couple....i dont know....

Actually you can see the woman in Rhea's pic all you have to do is look in John's pic and look at the woman in it who's wearing the same green dress as Rhea's pic. I know I'm getting confusing but I can't help it.

I've wondered if that's the same woman. It sort of looks like different prints on the dress, but I could be wrong. I'll tape it and do a freeze frame next time.

its not her. i looked at it, and its not the same dress. the lady in John's pic has a plain green dress, and the one in Rhea's has a print.

and the one in John's pic has sleeves(small ones) but the Rhea one is totally sleeveless
