I was wondering what was going on too!! I was afraid the site got taken over and shut down.

I haven't seen a site yet that hasn't gone down at some point. Just hope that it doesn't shut down forever like my favorite posting site, Television Without Pity, did.

IMDb is filled with trolls. I think after TWoP closed, that's where all the biggest jerks migrated to.

Or even worse, like the original Jump The Shark site did (fortunately, it was reborn as Bone The Fish, but still, when TV Guide shut down that old Jump The Shark site, that was a sad day indeed)!

There was a site known as "VintageClassicTV",(started after tvland shut down) they had change to "dustbunniesrock .com"---the best thing about this site it had a "LIVE CHAT."
One day the CHAT got taking over and had "Arbric writing"(no joke) instead of English and stopped you from being able to login to CHAT.
The owner of the site tried for two weeks to reload the chat, but couldn't do it!
So he posted in big,bold letters on all the boards-ATTENTION MUSLIMS WHO HAVE TAKEN OVER--YOU LOSE...a couple days later the site was no more.

I didn't love TWoP either. There was just too much meanness. People thought they were so funny and snarky, but 99% of the time, they were just plain cruel.

Yeah, true, they may have led the pack, but you can find that anywhere on the internet, even here at times. It never bothered me.

But the NICE thing about S.O. is that trolling, personal attacks and other anti-social behavior isn't tolerated by the mods and especially the Admins. Usually the troublemakers who attempt it generally start off with strong warnings, and if they persist, get suspended or banned.

This is why I'd really love S.O. - the admin's really care about it being a safe and peaceful place where we all can have fun; it's the only TV website I'd post on. I have better things to do then to go to out-of-control websites plagued by anti-social behavior-that I suspect is from people who don't have lives outside the boards.

I know I panicked...

And I know I had fights on here, but now if someone pisses me off on here, I rat on them to the administrators...I know I have a short fuse, but I hate it when I'm considered stupid...it isn't true, helpful, inspiring, necessary, or kind.

I totally agree and I too tend to stay away from the Politics Board. I will view it on occasion but almost never post there. That old adage about not discussing religion and politics is very often true!

Unfortunately, lately politics has been spreading into the other boards, mainly the 60's sitcom section (The Andy Griffith Show, and Dennis The Menace are two examples).

Thats why I like it here too. You dont have to worry if anybody is threating you or trolling you or anything. Even if that happens, the mods and Admin. deal with it. Its nice you can come on here and pretty much relax if you want to.

It was last Saturday for a few hours! :(

Im glad the problem was resolved!!!! (I didnt see it down which Im glad,i would have gotton worried)
