OK, the DVD includes the Promo videos and the episode. For this episode, the Promos shows Richard Mull playing a street thug in a gang who crashes Laverne & Shirley's beach party. The gang members are introduced as High Tide, Low Tide and Laverne interrupts and asks if the other one is named NEW & improved Tide.

Now, in the actual episode on DVD, Laverne and Shirley are trying to get everyone to leave the party and you see Richard Mulls' Character walk in the glass door with another gang member, which takes place BEHIND Laverne & Shirley. Everyone immediately see's them walk in and they all get up and almost run out of the house, leaving Laverne & Shirley feeling like they are responsible for getting everyone to leave.

But all of a sudden, the screen switches scenes and they just finished cleaning up after the party. There's no thugs, no introduction, no High Tide, Low Tide or New and Improved Tide.......it was edited out.

Can someone explain WHY this would be cut out of the DVD? To my knowledge, there was no music playing that would have required copyright troubles.....so WHY would this scene be cut?

I vaguely remember the gang members harmonizing "In the Still of the Night" during part of that ep. Maybe that's why the scene was cut?

Maybe this episode came from a syndication print rather than the original master?
