New Year = New Movies!

I bought Spy for Christmas and gave it to my son. He thinks Melissa McCarthy is hilarious.

Today I got the movie CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND (1977) on VHS :)

I first had this last year but the sound quality WAS HORRIBLE .. This one is a 1988 release by 'Goodtimes home video' and is EXCELLENT! (Now I have 2 movies from "GOODTIMES" and they are both BETTER than the offical tapes out there for both)

btw, a lot of the local pharmacies/supermarkets around here (Rite-Aid, Walgreens, Shop-Rite...) have a lot of cool movies.

I noticed that Rite-Aid had those cool "Trilogy Packs" like the Urban Legend, Cruel Intentions, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Wild Things ... for like $5.00

Saw this at Dollar General today and I'm going back Saturday to purchase it. The price is $24.95 but you can go to Dollar General (http://icdn4.digitaltrends.com/image/friday-13th-ultimate-xl-600x415.jpg) and print a coupon for $5 off $25 and get it cheaper. The coupon can only be used on Sat Feb, 27. Based on what sellers on Amazon & Ebay are trying to get and other prices out there as well I think it's a good deal. Each set is individually numbered to 50,000. The set will not be at all stores and those that did get them probably got only one. The store Mgr at the DG I found at it said they were sent to them in limited quantities.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark is one of my favorite made for TV horror movies, The Little Girl Down The Lane is excellent. Martin Sheen plays the dirty old man to perfection.
Don't Look In The Attic is one of the many horror films I rented back in the 80s as a kid, really don't remember anything about it other than it being Italian.

Vampyros Lesbos (1971) is good, one of Franco's more watchable movies.

I like Sucker The Vampire, good cheesy low budget fun. Back in the late 90's, Troma had a sale, all DVD's 25 cents apiece. I went on an ordering frenzy, Sucker was one of them. They also threw in 2 free items, the comic book adaptation of Sucker and a poster for Demented Death Farm Massacre (this was Troma's recut version of the early 70's flick Honey Britches)

Troma never had a sale like that again.

My wife and daughter surprised me with this from the store:

It's funny how some of these sets have lots of super cheese, then one classic, in this case the 1972 Sally Field made for TV horror movie Home For The Holidays.

It also has The Dark (1993) with Neve Campbell, which is a fun monster movie.

Also liked The Greenskeeper.

The other two films I've seen: Bread Crumbs, and Grim.

The rest I haven't seen: The Dead Of Night, Deadly Instincts, Grey Skies, The Shadows, Ashes, Murder So Sweet, All God's Creatures, Wall Of Secrets, A Lure: Teen Fight Club, The Rendering.

While not a movie I'll include the CD-Rom I also picked up today, Crime Patrol (1993).

I remember playing these live-action (FMV) video games at the arcades when I was younger. They were later ported to the home video consoles like the Sega CD, CD-i, 3DO as well as PC for computers.

My favorites from the American Laser Games company were Mad Dog 1 and 2, Crime Patrol 1 and 2, Who Shot Johnny Rock?, and The Last Bounty Hunter.

Digital Leisure re-released some of these games for DVD players around the early 2000s.

I had gotton this movie several times in the past but got rid of it because in alot of places in the movie there was wierd colours on ppls faces,etc.. like it was over exposed (too much colour) when transferred to VHS or something (I didnt like it @ all)


Last week I said to myself "NEXT TIME I FIND THIS MOVIE IM GONNA KEEP IT" and whadda ya know???? This one is fine..... No wierd colours,etc....... (So I didnt lie to myself http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/icons/icon7.gif)

The print date on this copy is 2/24/00
