"Glee" Star Mark Salling Reportedly Arrested for Child Porn Possession

Mark Salling, best known for his portrayal of Noah "Puck" Puckerman on the hit show "Glee", has reportedly been arrested for possession of child pornography after the LAPD searched his home early Tuesday morning.

The LAPD confirmed that the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit served a search warrant at an address listed under the actor's name in Sunland, California, after Crime Watch Daily broke the news.

Authorities arrived at the home around 7 a.m. local time, according to NBC News.

The LAPD offered some details today about the arrest of former "Glee" actor Mark Salling on child pornography charges.

It said special agents from the Department of Homeland Security worked the investigation along with the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit. Police say “images and video of child pornography were recovered on Salling’s electronic media devices.”

The actor was booked at LAPD’s Metropolitan Detention Center, and bail was set at $20,000.

Honestly, nothing that comes out of Hollywood surprises me anymore. Yes, it's horrible but it doesn't surprise me.

Naya Rivera’s heartbreak became relief when she heard last year’s shocking news about ex-boyfriend and former "Glee" costar Mark Salling.

Giving insight into her state of mind upon learning that Salling, 34, had been arrested on charges of child pornography, she reveals, “I can’t say I was totally shocked, but still – WTF?”

“My son’s nanny actually told me about it when the story broke,” Rivera explains in her memoir Sorry Not Sorry. “Then I had no doubt that God really did have my back along the way.”





The pair dated for three years while filming the hit TV show, but the 29-year-old says she was dumped by Salling in 2010 after his publicist insisted their public relationship wasn’t good for his image.

“When Mark dumped me, I thought it was the worst thing ever,” she continues, “but can you imagine if that didn’t happen? And I was laying there in bed when the battering ram came through the door?”

“I think everyone should have that one relationship where you look back and ask yourself, ‘What the hell was I thinking?’ You’ll learn something and you won’t regret it,” Rivera’s excerpt continues. “Unless, of course, that relationship was with someone who had a sizable stash of child porn on his computer. Then, by all means, regret everything.”

I understand that these quotes are from her book, but the fact that she is frames this whole thing around herself and how lucky she is sounds really gross and self-centered.

Former*Glee*actor Mark Salling, who played Noah "Puck" Puckerman on the Fox comedy-drama musical series from*Ryan Murphy,*Brad Falchuk, and*Ian Brennan, has reportedly pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.*

According to*Deadline, Salling took a plea deal that sees him face four to seven years behind bars, followed by a reported 20 years of supervised release thereafter, as well as*a fine in an amount yet to be determined by the court. The terms of the deal require Salling to register as a sex offender and participate in counseling and/or psychiatric treatment.*

The*20-page October 3 deal, signed by*Deputy Assistant U.S. Attorney Joey Lynn Blanch and Salling's lawyers Michael Broctok and Kimberly Singer,*reads in part as follows: "Defendant [Salling] knowingly possessed matters which the defendant knew contained visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct."

Salling stated that he is "pleading guilty*because I am guilty of the charges" and accepts the "48 to 84 months of imprisonment."

The actor was up against a possible sentencing of 20 years in jail and a lifetime of supervised release in the charges that arose from his December 29, 2015 arrest.*Investigators (the Los Angeles Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit) obtained a search warrant*and conducted an in-depth search of Salling's California home, finding roughly 25,000 still images and 600 videos of child pornography and 29,000 images of child erotica. Salling was indicted on two counts foofr receiving and possessing child pornography on his laptop and on a separate flash memory drive.*

Though the deal still needs formal approval by Judge*Otis Wright II, the plea agreement with the Acting U.S. Attorney also sees Salling paying $50,000 to each victim seeking restitution. He will not have any communication with any person under the age of 18, barring instances in which an individual's legal guardian is present or is aware of Salling's conviction, or when Salling comes into contact with waiters, cashiers, or other such vendors that he would encounter in a public space.

Additionally, the deal details that Salling must avoid venues frequented by minors, such as schools and what has been described as "video arcade facilities." Any computers or related devices Salling uses will also be subject to "search and seizure" at any given time, with the only exception being those used by Salling's employers.

Following his indictment last year, Salling was dropped from Adi Shankar's*Gods and Secrets, set to star*Chaz Bono,*Denise Richards, Jackson Rathbone, and*Alyson Stoner.*

"Glee" Actor Mark Salling Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography

Actor Mark Salling today pleaded guilty to a federal offense of possessing child pornography and as part of a plea agreement admitted he possessed some 25,000 images of children engaged in sexual conduct.

The 35-year-old actor, best known for co-starring on Fox’s "Glee", faced a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison, but as part of the plea agreement is expected to spend four to seven years in prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release and registry as a sex offender.

Sentencing is set for March 7th.





His vast collection of child pornography was discovered on a laptop computer, a hard drive, and a USB flash drive after Salling showed some of the images to a girlfriend, who then reported him to the police. The plea deal was made in October.

The case against him is the product of an investigation by the Los Angeles Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which includes officers with the Los Angeles Police Department and special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations. The Beverly Hills Police Department provided substantial assistance.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joey Blanch of the Violent and Organized Crime Section.

Old post, but good, the guy did the right thing in killing himself. He had 25,000 to 50,000 images of child pornography? That is as many people as a small city. I dont know how graphic the images are, was there sex involved or how young the children were. Just yesterday, I was read about a man of 38 years old in Southern California who got literally 600 years in prison for basically baby pornography, of several three and four year old children. I almost cried. I do not have children but I love all children. What grown person gets sexually aroused by a baby or child?

This clown killed himself a few years ago and good riddance. He ruined his life and his life in prison would have been hell if he survived it.
