Since I'm an 80's child, most of the Christmas songs I like are from this decade. I can't say as I care for the moldy oldies, the childish songs, and all the Manheim Steamroller/Boston Pops/TransSiberian Orchestra stuff that compromises 99% of the Christmas music that gets played.

My all-time favorite is Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses. I've lived in the Lansing, MI area for 25+ years and I think I've heard this song once on the radio. I have no idea why that is. Perhaps it's due to the fact the Waitresses never got launched into superstardom (though maybe they should have), perhaps it's the ever-changing formats of seemingly all the radio stations around here, perhaps it qualifies as "rap" and doesn't make it onto the playlists.

Seriously though, it's sad this great tune never gets the recognition it deserves. I would be curious to know, does this get played anywhere? Maybe I could rest easier knowing a radio station in Colorado or Minnesota or New York or somewhere plays this song.

And the Spice Girls also came out with a version, and let's just not talk about that, shall we? :)

I had it listed in the favorite Christmas songs topic. The classic rock station here in NYC plays it during December.
