TGL means The Good List...some characters whether on a sitcom, cartoon franchise, or even commercial seem take-over something and it isn't overpowering! But here's my list...

1-Bugs Bunny-LT had Porky Pig as their rising star until the 40's since Bugs Bunny had the Groucho Marx-ish humor. But he didn't take-over LT/MM, there was balance.
2-Arthur Fonzarelli-Up until the infamous "jump the shark" episode, he did have balance on the show alongside with Ritchie Cunningham. But when it became "The Fonz Show", it was something else...luckily it was short-lived.
3-Yogi Bear-Though a spin-off from Huckleberry Hound...Yogi Bear started to become the face of H-B (I still wish he was)!
4-Alex P. Keaton-It seems like "Family Matters", "Family Ties" has that breakthrough character...and it was Alex P. Keaton!
5-Brian and Stewie Griffin-When there's an episode of "Family Guy" that has these two...they have interesting adventures! But it seems that it's being waned...
6-Nostradamus "Bull" Shannon-Though a supporting character, it seems that Bull brings the laughs in "Night Court".
7-Woody Woodpecker-Originally, Andy Panda was supposed to be the face of Universal, but Woody took it over and it wasn't that overbearing.
8-James "J.J." Evans Jr.-Of course he stole the show "Good Times", but all I can say is..."Dy-No-Mite"!
9-Sugar Bear-Originally from the "Linus the Lion-Hearted" brand, Sugar Bear has survived throughout four decades!
10-Larry, Daryl, and Daryl-"Newhart" had many supporting characters, but I feel that these brothers thrived!
11-Pinky and the Brain-Though they had a spin-off from "Animaniacs", they had a strong fan base...looks like another world domination?
12-Dwayne Schneider-He's another one that kinda had a small role, but it flourished when ODATA progressed.
13-Donald Duck-In the 1940's, Donald had basically taken-over Disney almost to the point where he'd be the main mascot. But gradually, Mickey Mouse got that position back!
14-Joey Donovan-I dunno if he did take-over stardom, but Nell Harper kept him in line for the most part.
15-Sonic the Hedgehog-Originally, Sega was going to have Alex Kidd as their mascot...luckily they didn't! That game is hard, and Sonic represented the 90's...especially in video games!
16-Steve Urkel-Though he made "Family Matters" into "The Urkel Show", even Jaleel White was getting bored of wearing nerd clothes!

Honorable Mentions...

Mona Robinson-I feel that she stole the scene in WTB.
Zach Morris-SBTB was once focused on Miss Bliss once, NOT the students!
Betty Boop-Koko the Clown was Fleischer Brother's first creation, but since sex sells...the rest is history!
Snoopy-BOTH him and Charlie Brown seems to have a balance in this franchise.

What other characters, live or animated, took over a franchise and it worked for the better NOT as one character took over the show?

I'll be making another list soon which has characters that took-over a show...but it seemed to have hindered than helped.

Scooby-Doo, Spongebob, Elmo, and Barney Stinson from HIMYM will be on that list...any other characters that are like that?
