View Full Version : Had no idea Antenna TV removed Three's Company from the 12am slot
TVFactFan 12-21-2015, 04:08 PM and moved it to 3am in the morning so they can put BARNEY MILLER in that slot? And when TC was in the 12am slot my local antenna replaced three;s company with local news but now that Barney Miller is in the 12am slot there is no more local news?

One tag scene omission is going to hold you back?
TVFactFan 12-21-2015, 09:46 PM One tag scene omission is going to hold you back?
It was 2 or 3 tags missing
JackJanetChrissy 12-21-2015, 10:05 PM What were the missing tags besides Ralph's Rival? I think they are all intact on my DVDs except for that one.
JackJanetChrissy 12-21-2015, 10:06 PM Also, the DVD's do not have any of the TV Land or other syndication edits, so I think it would be a fair investment.

Mighty Mouth was another and I can't think of the other ep

Mighty Mouth has a tag.
OH Nuts! 12-21-2015, 10:55 PM Why can't you just set your DVD/VCR to burn/tape the show, and then watch it later when it's convenient for you?

Because that would be too much work every day
Because that would be too much work every day
You should be able to set it to where it records the same time every day. No work on your part. You've got plenty of options. Hard to feel bad for you in this case.

I like watching it in primetime when I eat my dinner. But I guess I will never have the DVD's because I can't pay money for bad edits
JackJanetChrissy 12-22-2015, 10:09 AM It is Christmastime. You should ask someone to give it to you as a gift, or give you a giftcard you can use to purchase it. The complete series is only $75 on eBay (down from $120 it was in the spring).
You are watching "bad edits" anyway on the television/cable you're paying for. May as well pay for the DVDs, that way you will have them forever. Pretty sure Anchor Bay will never release a different version.
JackJanetChrissy 12-22-2015, 10:11 AM Plus, a lot of the episodes in TV syndication are heavily edited AND cut off the tags. Seems like you'd be getting a lot more with the DVDs.
BigManMike 12-22-2015, 09:22 PM It's at some Target stores in my area for just $50.

It's better to look at the edited versions for free than pay for them. But like u said I should i have put it on my christmas list

It's a one-time expense, though. You can't find 50 bucks in your budget to get every Three's company episode and have them forever?

George Lopez
Fresh Prince

k. Guess you'll be going without Three's for a long time then.
TVFactFan 12-22-2015, 10:49 PM Santa can you please send me the ABC airing of Ralph's Rival with all commercials and the original Tag from dec 4, 1979 and put it under my mom's tree?
LOL
JackJanetChrissy 12-23-2015, 12:47 PM ha ha....well there's always your birthday. Hopefully it's not far away.
MikeLutton 12-23-2015, 01:20 PM three's company been complete on dvd for years I got all 8 seasons

I saw the ep on Antenna a few weeks ago. So what happens in this sacred missing tag?
JackJanetChrissy 12-23-2015, 04:08 PM Here is a transcript, courtesy of MRPITT who viewed the episode at the UCLA television archives:
Here is the transcript of the tag scene for 0412 Ralphs Rival
Janet & Chrisssy are sitting at the kitchen table eating bread and peanut butter (Janet is eating Bread and Chrissy is eating and spreading Peanut Butter on a slice of bread)
Chrissy: I dont like Pink I am so tired of Pink
Janet : Why Not?
Jack Walks in with a brown paper bag full of groceries and sets it on the counter.
Janet : Hi Jack! (muffled a bit with a mouth full of Peanut Butter Bread)
Jack : Well? (Annoyed tone)
Janet : Well What?
Jack : Did Furley Get us a Plumber?
Chrissy: Yeah He Did Jack
Jack : A Real Plumber?
Janet : Yes, A Real Licensed Plumber
Jack : Fantasatic! I cant wait to see a Garbage Disposal That Works Properly (As he is walking towards the sink)
Jack Turns on the Garbage Disposal and Water Shoots all over his face (just like it dis earlier in the episode)
Janet : Ah You (as water is sprayin everywhere)
Jack : I thought you said he got us a real plumber?
Chrissy: Well he did but said he would be here tomorrow morning.
Jack Shakes his head and water flys all over the place as Janet and Chrissy runs around to the other side of the table.
They are wearing different clothes then the previous scene so it seems like maybe its the next day.
In total the scene last 36 seconds.

The audio was poor in the master, which is why it was cut. HOWEVER, you can view the tag scene in foreign versions, which are dubbed (so the original sound doesn't matter). Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx1W6ogM5I8
TVFactFan 12-23-2015, 07:55 PM The missing 36 seconds that will not allow me to pay one dime lol
BigManMike 12-23-2015, 10:35 PM I could live with 2 or 3 missing tag scenes as long as everything else is complete. I'll take that any day over Antenna TV's horrible credit crunched version.
TVFactFan 12-23-2015, 10:43 PM Hopefully shout can have a release of this show
Shout gives TV fans all the surprises
JackJanetChrissy 12-23-2015, 11:07 PM I think you'll have to settle. As tight-fisted and over-protective of Three's Company as DLT Entertainment is, I doubt they will ever allow another company to release the series.
2017 will be the 40th anniversary of TC---a perfect opportunity to release remastered copies in one complete package. The fact that DLT ignored that opportunity is a sign to me that they are not interested in an updated release and do not care about fans.

Which company released the series as set all together?
JackJanetChrissy 12-23-2015, 11:15 PM Anchor Bay. The same company that released the individual seasons, which explains why the complete series is basically all the original DVDs repackaged as one thing.

what a stupid f*cking release. Trying to scam fans of the show
For me personally I'm glad I bought the complete set. No, don't buy it if you already have all or most of the season sets on DVD, but I'm glad to have it. I don't like the picture quality of Season 3, but I'm sure it's the same on the original seaaon 3 release. I'm just satisfied with it. It's not perfect, but most things aren't.
BigManMike 12-23-2015, 11:56 PM I really wish Anchor Bay would release The Ropers and Three's a Crowd.

I agree with you. I am satisfied with my DVDs as they are. Some shows never get released on DVD at all, so I am just happy to have them to call my own, imperfect or not.

Hate to tell you this, but with the exception of the Fresh Prince, all of those shows you mentioned are much less complete on DVD than Three's Company!
George Lopez has a replacement theme song on all the episodes. I heard some of the episodes are edited due to music.
CPO Sharkey has several syndicated episodes on the Season 1 DVDs
Married... With Children, while they fixed the issue with the theme song, there are several episodes that don't have the original tag scenes.
I don't know about Fresh Prince, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were some edited episodes.

Of all the shows I've bought on DVD, Three's Company would have to go near the top as far as being the most complete on DVD. 1 missing tag scene out of 172 episodes isn't bad at all.

Plus it's a lot cheaper. Less than $100. I probably spent twice as much buying all the season sets individually when they first came out.

One of the episodes is from a syndicated print, with a disclaimer that some "hockey puck" misplaced the uncut master. The episodes look fine for videotape of the era. They aren't ever going to look any better, even if this isn't the release you would want to use to show off your new TV's capabilities.
I've watched the first four episodes. The second episode has no disclaimer and runs only 22:00. The third episode has the "hockey puck" disclaimer and runs about 22:30. Episodes one and four run about 25 minutes or more.
chriszme 12-24-2015, 03:54 PM The original one hour long episodes are not included and cut into two separate episodes also and when I told the company issuing the dvds they said they did not care and would not fix.
