I never thought of this before, but "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" actually spun off from the hit '80s sitcom "Full House."

Here's how this show qualifies as a spin-off: in the first episode taped after the pilot, the Olsen Twins reprised their shared role of Michelle Tanner in the "Hangin' with Michelle" episode; later in the first season, in a handful of episodes, Jurnee Smollett, as Michelle's friend Denise Frazier, did double duty on both "Full House" and "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper." On "Cooper," Denise served as one of Robin's (Dawnn Lewis) music students.

Sorry, but this doesn't qualify as a spinoff. Jurnee Smollett was a guest star on Full House and later reprised the role as a guest star on Hanging' With Mr. Cooper. According to IMDb she was only in 4 episodes so that totally negates your spinoff theory.
