It appears that Encore has dropped some of it's best shows in favor or shows played to death.

They used to have shows like Amen, 227, What's Happening, Night Court, Murphy Brown and so on. Now the have Good Time which has been played to death since it went off the air and The Jeffersons which has not only been played to death but has recently been added to Antenna TV's line up along with getting a full series release on DVD last year.

I hope Encore brings back these classics because the new stuff is not making people want to keep their subscriptions to the channel especially since they have deleted most of their shows from on demand as well.

Well, What's Happening is still on TVOne or Centric, I think. 227 is coming to Logo and I thought Night Court and Murphy Brown was on Encore at 6(?) and 6:30(?).

I agree. I love all the shows they're currently airing but they are played to death.

I will especially miss "Amen". It's such an underrated sitcom.

I wish they'd bring "Amen" back and add "Benson" and "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper".

Not anymore they're not. They got replaced with more Magnum, PI.

You do realize that it is not the same right? Those other channels air butchered versions of great classics so telling me about the other stations airing them is not helpful. Encore airs all their programs unedited with the exception of a few Amen episodes which were under 22 minutes long.

TVOne is a butcher for classic shows these days and so is Logo. I might as well not watch them if they are going to be sliced and diced.

I was merely making a comment about how the line up is not worth watching anymore but rest assured I had all of them recorded before they were removed.

I did not get a chance to record Murphy Brown but I got Amen, 227 and Diff'rent Strokes seasons 5-8 before they went off Encore. I will just have to deal with my Nick at Nite/TV Land recordings of Murphy Brown until they are broadcast on Encore again.

Encore still airs Diff'rent Strokes. It got moved to 7PM eastern/6PM central.

Still they have reduced the airings and removed the entire series with the exception of a few episodes from on demand.

They didn't reduce the airings, did they? I thought they still played 2 episodes a night, Monday-Friday.

I can never catch these shows in time.
