Crusinforabrusin 12-31-2015, 05:32 PM Every season except the one without Hoss Cartwright Coffeecup 05-29-2019, 12:20 PM For the last few months I have been seeing Bonanza but have only gotten to season 5. Will comment later if I continue to see the future seasons. Coffeecup 07-24-2019, 11:09 AM Pernell Robert claimed he left the series for the plots were getting silly. I have been seeing the season 6 and some of the plots are slow moving. The one with Henry Jones as a knight who frightens stage coach robbers , the Hoss and lephaucans, Joe afraid of climbing the mountain to reclaim his gun, and a few other in either season 5+ 6 didn't interest me. I can see why Parnell left. KatieAnn 08-17-2019, 05:27 PM My understanding is that Pernell wanted to leave the series long before he did. As early as season 4 they were considering replacement options. Season 4 had them bring in Little Joe's half brother (on his mother's side) but the rest of the cast was against it so he only did one episode. In season 5 a cousin was introduced, Pernell was supposed to leave but changed his mind and the cousin left instead. By season 6 Pernell seemed to be barely trying. The show managed for many years without him and even though Adam wasn't my favourite character, I still like the first 6 seasons best. Coffeecup 08-18-2019, 09:41 AM I just saw season 7 opener and I either missed or didn't hear how they mentioned Adam being gone. I did enjoy the multi episodes he had with Kathy Brown, think actress is name Kathy whose character had daughter. Felt he should have married her and that would have been his character exit. Didn't like Cousin Will ( Guy Wiliams) barging in and taking Kathy and leaving Adam in the lurch. Coffeecup 05-02-2020, 11:12 AM It is several months later and have one more episode to see. One episode from Season 14 with Jack Albertson I thought was very good but a bit of tear jerker. Michael Landon might have written it and directed it. The episode two children who were up for adoption and the potential parents didn't want the younger child for he was mute. The kids run away and bump into Jack. Stay with Jack for a while but later Griff finds out and Ben finds out and the children go back to see about the adoption. Jack tells the potential parents about how the boys might feel . I had tears in my eyes. Good episode. |
